Modern and Timeless - a Parthenon Wedding by A Music City Event
Friday, August 6, 2010
I'm often amazed at the grandeur of the Parthenon, even if ours is but a replica. It doesn't change the fact that it provides a fantastic location for a wedding reception.
Today's featured Nashville bride and groom chose the Parthenon as their backdrop and trusted their day to Sarah Willard of A Music City Event. Everything came together as desired - timeless and at the same time modern.

Nashville really has a great selection of wedding venues. From the lush, pretty outdoors to the most chic venues - there's a perfect wedding location to suit any style of bride. Today's real wedding post features a romantic, urban wedding that combines nicely at aVenue. The loft-like space with its delicious hardwood floors and exposed brick walls provided a wonderful backdrop to Courtney and David's special day. After the Flood: Andy & Jen’s Gorgeous Garden Wedding
Monday, July 19, 2010
I'm delighted to share a wonderful Nashville wedding accompanied by two incredible wedding specials!
A few weeks ago, jHenderson Photography and CJ's Off the Square each reached out to me to share their individual summer specials. Ironically, I'd just received Andy and Jen's wedding to feature that took place at CJ's photographed by JHenderson. How seredipitous ! I love when things come together just right! So, instead of just falling in love with the garden wedding (as I did) and the wow photos, you can have your own garden wedding photographed by a killer photographer and SAVE SAVE SAVE!! Yes - you can thank me (and them) later.

When we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of wedding planning, it's easy to overlook what's at the core - a marriage. Once in a while, we meet a gem of a bride whose vision isn't all about the glitter or themes but one who cherishes the moments that she wanted as part of her special day, with lots of unique personalized touches that were such a joy to see. For Lauren and William, their wedding was a day spent with family and friends from near and far, one that was capturedl in gorgeous photographs, and super fun photobooth pics.

Nashville Bride’s Tall Order: Super Chic, Modern yet Southern Wedding at The Cannery
Tuesday, June 15, 2010
Originally from Singapore, Nashville was the first Southern city I visited in America. And after living here for more than 10 years, the people are still wonderful, the hospitality is great and the food... oh the food! I swoon just thinking about it. Southern food is delicious. It brings "comfort food" to a whole new level.
It's no surprise couples choose a hearty, might-as-well-be-home-made menu of classic Southern dishes to serve at their weddings. Down South Delights is one catering company that know how to satisfy that desire for some downhome cookin'.

Boxcars, Bowlers & Boas - a 1940’s Wedding with Donald Yeager Photography
Monday, May 31, 2010
The 1940's evoke images of black and white movies with their dashing actors and stylish, elegant leading ladies. Casablanca, Citizen Kane, It's a Wonderful Life and many more classics made the decade and its fashion iconic - sharp suits and fedoras for men, beautiful dresses and sexy yet very classy accessories for women. It was a romantic era and it's no wonder when Kelly and James planned their big day, they adopted the 1940's theme.

jHenderson Studios Shares a Funky and Fun Tennessee Wedding
Friday, May 7, 2010
You all might already know that I love love love quirkier weddings where the bride and groom have their signature cool style, one that's VERY distinctly theirs and they're not just following trends. Today's wedding comes to us by way of Jenna Henderson of jHenderson Studios. She really manages to capture the personalities of each couple she photographs. Very cool.
This couple (the bride happens to be Hannah, a wedding photographer whose weddings we've loved featuring) got married in this fabulously worn looking venue in Clarksville, TN called the Customs House Museum. The day looked like a blast! So without further ado, here's Jenna and a few of our favorites from the Westphall/ Blanton wedding!

Real Nashville Wedding: Vintage DIY Winter Wedding
Friday, March 26, 2010
I love when I get to feature a real wedding. Some ask - what's the difference between a real wedding and an unreal wedding? A real wedding showcases real brides, working with a real budget. An unreal wedding is a photoshoot that is provided to inspire. Budget is really no obect because you don't have guests to serve (1 table setting that is to die for) no mother to appease...get where I'm going:).
So, it is with my delight that I present today's real wedding, submitted by Kristyn Hogan, lifestyle photographer. It is a vintage, do-it-yourself winter wedding. It has some great detail and took place in Murfreesboro, using many Mboro wedding vendors.

In the Heart of the City - An ABG Bride Weds at Nashville’s Hutton Hotel!
Friday, March 12, 2010
When when when are we going to feature a Hutton Hotel wedding? That's been my question forever! Finally, the day has arrived. Thanks to Kimberly, Joseph, their planner Celebrations by Design and their photographer, Shanna Mahoney, I can check out this swank wedding venue vicariously. Yes, I've dined their but seeing a wedding there is quite different. Plus, they included the Parthenon in their wedding day pictures and I so love the Parthenon.
Nashville provides such a beautiful backdrop for weddings, whether it's off in the country on a rustic farm or plantation or at a chic, downtown city setting.

A Southall Eden Farm Wedding, Filled with Southern Charm
Tuesday, March 2, 2010
Featured Blogger: Dawn of Premier W.E.D.
This wedding has wonderful Southern charm! The bride and groom clearly knew what they wanted going into the design of their wedding. The orange in the florals paired with the wood "vases" and rustic color scheme look splendid for a fall wedding. It looks especially pleasant in contrast with the burnt red barn in the background. The cowboy boots are also a great touch to their Southern wedding!

Tuesday, February 16, 2010
Here's a super fun wedding with a modern twist, courtesy of Lotus Blossom Photography, who always manages to capture such joyful aspects of a wedding.
What ABG loves about this wedding is that just because you're having a destination wedding doesn't mean that you can't hire {great} Nashville wedding vendors you love/trust...or still check out ABG for ideas everyday:).
Thanks Cathryn and Michael for sharing your special day with us!

Wednesday, February 3, 2010
I love this couple’s engagement session. You probably remember me featuring it last summer. I love it because the two look like a jewelry ad - so perfect, so in love. While they look like models, they aren’t. They are real and were recently married in North Carolina.
