Real Nashville Wedding Story: Kimberly and Giles
Monday, July 13, 2009
Kimberly and Giles recent got married and I love that they focused on what was most important to them vs. wedding traditions. Their wedding is why I love sharing Nashville weddings. They are a great example of making your wedding yours. For instance, they didnt have a bridal party. They took pics before the wedding and shared special moments together in doing so. They also had the wedding at their home - a new trend that I love! It was 100% uniquely them - down to their Cracker Barrel catering!
While their style may not be yours - I do hope that their desire to focus on the true meaning of their day - a day of love and family - inspires you to search within to do the same.

In fact, I just realized - Thursday's bride workshop will be all about that - rediscovering you, your wishes and ensuring your day reflects all that you and your fiance deeply desire.
Kimberly and Giles - Thanks for letting me share your wedding details! And, special thanks to Weddings with Reese, their planner!

My wedding style Fun, Spring, Romance My colors and why I choose them Orange, Hot pink, Green
My theme "Our Lives Together"

Personal touches Every aspect of our wedding was a personal touch. The bride planned every aspect of the weeding to make sure it reflected the couple. Engagement pictures were part of the centerpieces (which family members could take home), songs were chosen based on what they meant in our lives, food was chosen based on our history. Everything reflected us! We chose to have the wedding at the brides' parent's home to celebrate the life of the brides stepfather, who passed away in 2007. Wedding wow factor We had a very intimate wedding with very bright colors. Our guests LOVED that we had Cracker Barrel cater (which was where our first date took place).

Favors Koozies, pictures, cake boxes

Gift for bridesmaids & groomsmen We chose to not have any bridesmaids or groomsmen. Our closest friends and family know we love them. We wanted them to be able to relax and enjoy the day, not to spend money to celebrate with us.

Most special moment for me Seeing my husband for the first time. We chose to do our pictures together before the wedding to be able to take our time and have some quality time together before the events began!

My Wedding Vendors: Coordinator -Corrinne Reese of Weddings with Reese Cake - A local lady that did a wonderful job Photo-Krista Lee Photography Invitations - Party City Bridal Gown- The White Room in Lebanon Groom's Suit - Jos A Bank Rings - Shane Co Music - DJ Dan and Co Rentals - Liberty Party Rental Linens -BBJ Linen

My faves I highly recommend ALL of our vendors. They were wonderful. Our wedding Coordinator made my day smooth and stress free. Corrinne Reese was PRICELESS in ensuring we had a wonderful day! How I found my vendors? Bridal shows, wedding planning resources, friends? We found our Vendors through word of mouth, wedding magazines and extensive internet searches. My Wedding Rewind: What I would do differently if planning again? Nothing! We had a wonderful day and it was exactly what we wanted! Biggest waste of time or money? We were very careful about planning and therefore didn't have anything that was a waste. Best value for the service/product? Coordinator and Photographer (the pictures we have of my dad at the wedding were the last pictures taken before he passed away.....there are priceless)! Neatest find I made cake take home boxes so everyone could take cake home, they were a huge hit! Advice for other Nashville brides? Get quotes from multiple places! Prices can vary drastically. Be open to "thinking out of the box." Relaize that you do not have to spend thousands of dollars to have a beautiful wedding!!
