StudioWed Nashville now has a wedding blog that allows us to keep a pulse on what's happening at their Nashville's wedding planning studio - from events to weddings. One post that caught my eye was the wedding of Kimberly and Rashad. I enjoyed their wedding so much that I wanted to share it with you, especially the wonderful same-day edit video (by McNeal Wedding Films) included below that you must absolutely watch!
By the way, if you haven't visited StudioWed this month, you should! They are a great offline wedding planning resource. Plus, all brides who visit the studio this month will be entered to win a gift from Tiffany and Co. Visit their blog to learn more about the StudioWed giveaway.
We’re so happy to share with you a wedding from a few months ago where several of our StudioWed Nashville Exclusive Vendors worked together to make one gorgeous wedding for bride and groom, Kimberly & Rashad.
Here are the members who were involved in making the day so beautiful:
Dove Wedding Photography – Photography – Dove did such a beautiful job of capturing the love that Kimberly & Rashad radiate. Stunning!
McNeal Wedding Films – Videography – We can’t say enough good things about McNeal and the incredible job they did on the same day edit of the ceremony that was showed at the reception – WOW! It amazes me how they were able to edit all of those video clips during the reception (see the video below)!
Rhonda Patton Designs (RhondaPattonWeddings.com) – Florals – Rhonda made some of the most beautiful floral arrangements for their reception and we just love the bouquets!! She really knows how to make an event so classy.
A Delightful Day Event Planning – Planner – Mary Alice kept the day running smoothly once again! She certainly knows how to keep a bride and groom happy and at ease throughout the wedding planning process and wedding day!
Nashville Audio Visual (NashvilleAudioVisual.com) – Lighting – Chris Jackson made The Hutton look so welcoming and inviting.
Sweet Life Designs Stationery Studio (SweetLifeDesigns.com) – Paper Goods – Amber Housley designed every paper good for Kimberly & Rashad’s wedding & ceremony and everything looked so gorgeous. Her designs certainly know how to capture guest’s attention.
Amy Lynn Larwig – Bridesmaid’s make up – We just love Amy Lynn, she really knows how to make people feel confident and beautiful.
I'm often amazed at the grandeur of the Parthenon, even if ours is but a replica. It doesn't change the fact that it provides a fantastic location for a wedding reception.
Today's featured Nashville bride and groom chose the Parthenon as their backdrop and trusted their day to Sarah Willard of A Music City Event. Everything came together as desired - timeless and at the same time modern.
A Music City Event Presents A Parthenon Wedding
Bride ~ Meridith Krebs
Groom ~ Nathan Ledbetter
May 29, 2010 at 6 PM
Ceremony ~ Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church
Reception ~ The Parthenon, Centennial Park
145 Guests
My wedding style?
I like to think of our wedding style as timeless with a modern twist.
My colors and why I choose them?
Cobalt blue, gray and white. I choose cobalt blue because I was looking for a color that was very vibrant and rich to stand out at The Parthenon. I used gray and white as our neutral shades because they complemented the cobalt blue so well.
My theme?
I don’t think we had a particular theme in mind. We wanted the wedding to reflect our individual personalities, so we had a lot of personal touches right down to our choices in beverages. I also tried to keep in mind that we did not need to have the most expensive wedding in the world, but we wanted the wedding to be very well done and for everyone to have a great time.
Wedding wow factor?
I would have to say The Parthenon. It was a very unique space for our family and friends who were traveling in from out of town which is what we were going for. We wanted our guests to walk-up to our reception and say “Wow.”
Favors?
I found this great favor idea on Style Me Pretty which was 2 x 2 favor boxes with chocolate truffles inside. Nathan and I constructed the favor tags and The Cocoa Tree filled each box with a truffle.
Personalized touches?
Nathan and I tried to carry our monogram, which Southall Eden designed for our wedding invitations, throughout the wedding. We incorporated the monogram on match boxes, napkins, programs, bar menus and favor tags. We also had quite a few do it yourself projects which included designing/constructing match boxes, welcome bags and bar menus. We also decided that we needed something for the aisle at the church, so with my Mom’s help we constructed 20 tissue paper pomanders for the aisle. They took a lot of time to make, but were definitely worth it. The pictures are amazing!!
Gift for bridesmaids? Groomsmen?
For the bridesmaids, I gave them small Coach silver clutches and earrings for the big day. Nathan gave his groomsmen monogrammed silver cuff links from Blue Nile. o Most special moment for me? Seeing Nathan for the first time as I walked down the aisle with my father. I will always remember his face and the emotion that he had.

My faves
I love the ladies at The Bride Room for making my wedding dress shopping experience so wonderful and most importantly fun. I also love the creativity of Designs by Sara Marie, Belles Fleurs and Shannon O’Kelley with Southall Eden. I also highly recommend Sarah Willard with A Music City Event and only wish that Sarah and I could have worked together from the beginning of my planning process. Sarah knows exactly who to call and always had a solution to any situation that I threw her way.
How I found my vendors?
I found most of vendors through my planner, or through other vendor recommendations. I also used numerous bridal blogs and websites for ideas and inspiration such as Ashley’s Bride Guide, The Thirty-Something Bride as well as The Budget Savvy Bride.
My wedding rewind:
What I would do differently if planning again?
In the beginning of my planning, I was just so excited to get started and I think we rushed through meetings with vendors. If I could do it again, I think I would pace myself a little more so I would not feel so overwhelmed. o Biggest waste of time or money? We purchased our own table linens to save some money and this ended up being a complete hassle and a huge time waste before and after the wedding. I definitely recommend renting linens to all of my friends who are getting married.
Best value for the service/product?
I would have to say Designs By Sara Marie was the best value. Sara is so easy to work with and she makes the whole design process so simple and fun. In retrospect, I wish that I had her design our bridesmaid dresses as well.
Neatest find?
Instead of a guest book, we found a person on Etsy.com who made concert posters with your wedding details. We had the poster framed and used the mat around the poster as a place for our guests to sign and wish us good luck.
Include anything else you want brides-to-be to know about you wedding, vendors, tips, etc.
Most importantly, please remember to have fun and not lose sight of what the day is truly about. In the end, the details don’t really matter….It is about finding that special person and starting your life together.
Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Ledbetter and great job to all the vendors who worked with the happy couple! What a beautiful wedding! To see more from A Music City Event's work, visit them online or visit her blog for some great wedding advice!
Nashville really has a great selection of wedding venues. From the lush, pretty outdoors to the most chic venues - there's a perfect wedding location to suit any style of bride. Today's real wedding post features a romantic, urban wedding that combines nicely at aVenue. The loft-like space with its delicious hardwood floors and exposed brick walls provided a wonderful backdrop to Courtney and David's special day. They also had some of funnest fish favors I've ever seen.

Wedding Style
My wedding style?
My wedding style was hip and classic with hints of romance throughout the room. It is not hard to make this already beautiful wedding venue just exactly what any bride would want.
My colors and why I choose them?
My colors were raspberry and green with small bursts of orange. My attendants wore 2 different styles and colors of Bari Jay dresses. The bridesmaids wore green and matrons and maid of honor wore raspberry to coincide with their groomsmen/ringbearers with like alternating tuxes.
My theme?
Fun and elegant – My theme was a very fun. My focus was on convenience and fun for our guests. There are so many weddings that I have been to where you have to travel from the wedding to the venue and I wanted to ensure that my guests were comfortable and were entertained.
Wedding wow factor?
Our guests loved the downtown location and the décor that was used was very original. We received a ton of compliments about how organized and detailed the wedding was as well as the food and drinks were fantastic.
Favors?
Other than the goldfish that we gave to the children, we made a donation to the American Diabetes Foundation in honor of the groom.
Personalized touches?
Some of the personal touches that we added to the party were we had a gobo with our names reflecting onto the wall and we also made a video with our pictures growing up as well as some engagement photos looping on a big screen tv throughout the reception.
Gift for bridesmaids? Groomsmen?
The bride gave each bridesmaid an embroidered towel wrap and the groom gave the groomsmen engraved leather money clips and hot pink patterned socks that were worn under their tuxes to add a lot of color and make for some great pictures.
Most special moment for me?
Seeing my groom privately for the first time. My coordinator arranged for us to see each other before the wedding. David was waiting at the top of the stairs when I walked behind him and he saw me for the first time. There are no words for this moment and how special it was.
For the kids in my wedding?
We had goldfish that were in our table centerpieces we gave to the children in their own individual tanks along with care instructions and fish food.
My Wedding Vendors
My planner – Laurie Hardman with Randi Events, who manage my venue, aVenue. She made this day so very perfect for me. She exudes professionalism and organization. Even despite the rain and flooding on this day, I had no clue the stresses she took on because of this….thank goodness.
Cake – From Chef’s Market, was a small sugar free top cake surrounded by cupcakes that were strawberry, chocolate and vanilla decorated with white icing and orchids.
Caterer – Chef’s Market. We had so many complements on the food for our reception. We had passed appetizers of mini mozzarella and tomatoes, mini bites of tomato, avocado and corn. For dinner we had a buffet style heavy appetizers with mini cheeseburger sliders with all the fixings, a sweet potato and mashed potato bar, Fajita bar served with chips and queso and pecan crusted chicken tenders.
Photographer – Rich Kalonick (richkphoto.com) – Rich was the best. He was fun, laid back and got the job done to perfection. Despite the rain, he made all of our shots inside beautiful and entertaining. He also had a photobooth set up that our guests really enjoyed. Rich also did our engagement photos and he has such a fantastic eye for what will and will not look good.
Video – Rich Kalonick
Invitations – Designs in Paper, Donette did an amazing job on not only my beautiful and original wedding invitations, she also did my Invitations to my rehearsal dinner and bridesmaids luncheon. She can cater to any type of design and adds a perfect artsy flair to everything. She made the headache of invitations completely seamless.
Dresses – Bari Jay for the bridesmaids and Anjolique for the bride. The bridesmaids wore Hunter Green and matrons and maid of honor wore Raspberry to coincide with their groomsmen/ring bearers with like alternating tuxs.
Rings – We purchased both of our rings at Zales jewelers. The brides ring is a round cut diamond in a antique style setting in white gold and the grooms is tungsten.
Music – Our DJ Mark Malatesta out of Memphis (jordabella.com). Mark has very competitive pricing and made our party fun and kept the crowd going and dancing throughout the entire party. He also did our wedding music and made all the announcement and followed a timeline given by the coordinator.
I would most of all highly recommend Randi Event Design team (randilesnick.com). They made my day so very special and seamless. They have the most skilled professionals as well as connections with the best and decoration and catering ideas. They also have a number of venues that they can hold any event at that are stylish and chic through Nashville Event Space.
What I would do differently if planning again?
There is honestly not one thing that I would have changed about my day. The planning went perfectly and I got exactly what I wanted in every way.
Biggest waste of time/money?
My biggest waste of time and money was the parting gift of bubbles. We found these really cute cowboy boots that had bubbles in them and tied ribbons on them with a really cute saying on them. You couldn’t really see the bubbles in pictures at all.
The best value for the service/product?
My photographer was the best service for the amazing pictures that we got back. He caught so many wonderful memories in pictures for us.
Neatest find?
My neatest find was my invitation person. They really were able to design exactly what I was looking for, for the price that was comparable to what I wanted to pay. They went beyond that and gave me professional and personal service with each and everything that I ordered.
This last picture really captures Courtney's vision for utter romance at a hip, modern venue. All the best to the happy couple!

I'm delighted to share a wonderful Nashville wedding accompanied by two incredible wedding specials!
A few weeks ago, jHenderson Photography and CJ's Off the Square each reached out to me to share their individual summer specials. Ironically, I'd just received Andy and Jen's wedding to feature that took place at CJ's photographed by JHenderson. How seredipitous ! I love when things come together just right! So, instead of just falling in love with the garden wedding (as I did) and the wow photos, you can have your own garden wedding photographed by a killer photographer and SAVE SAVE SAVE!! Yes - you can thank me (and them) later.
First - the specials, then the wedding
1) JHenderson Photography's "Shoot & Burn" package is available for select September wedding dates. For only $1,800, the package includes 5 hours of coverage and a DVD with full printing rights. You're not limited to just five hours either - each additional hour is $200. Your date must fall on September 11,12, 17,18,19, 25, 26, or October 1, 2 this year. Definitely contact Jenna by visiting jHenderson Studios online.
2) CJ's off the Square's Summer Special - I'm a bit tardy sharing this special (that technically ended on 7/15) but I am HOPING that the lovely ladies at CJs will extend the offer to ABG brides that contact them this week. Contact them asap and save $500 off your rehearsal dinner and even more off your wedding( $1000 on Saturdays or $1500 off Sunday – Friday).
Romance After the Storm - Andy & Jen Tie the Knot at CJ's Off the Square
To give you a better glimpse into jHenderson's amazing photography (she makes it all look so gorgeous) please know that Andy and Jen's Tennessee wedding took place a little bit after the flood hit us in May. Considering the destruction the water made in parts of Franklin, TN, it was such a blessing for our bride and groom, Jen and Andy still had a wonderful wedding at CJ's Off the Square was barely touched and they still managed to have a beautiful wedding day !
Enjoy!
Bride ~ Jennifer Lynn Carroll
Groom ~ Richard Andrew Holtzclaw (Andy)

What was your wedding style?
Definitely Romantic.
What were your colors and why did you choose them?
Black and Champagne. These colors are classic, simple and romantic.
Did you have a theme? What was it?
Romantic. Our wedding was in the evening, so we wanted lots of candles and outdoor lighting to enhance the romantic feeling.
What did you use for inspiration?
The Knot.com, Bride Magazines (Ashley’s Bride Guide being on of them) and photo albums displayed at CJ’s, as well as their blog.
Wedding Scoop:
What was your budget?
$20,000
What was your wedding WOW factor?
Our guests raved about the food provided by Bistro To-Go. We are still getting compliments on the food 2 months later.
What did you give as favors to your guests?
Golf tees (my husband is a golf lover), koozies and match books. Each item had a silly little saying and our names and date engraved on them.
How did you personalize your wedding?
We used music to personalize our day. We made our own song list for the wedding and reception. We love to dance and have parties whenever possible. It was important to us to really throw a great party for our friends and family. The music selection was a huge part of that. We really wanted the music to reflect our personalities.
What did you give your bridesmaids and groomsmen?
The bridesmaids received a jeweled, personalized compact purse mirror and a personalized jewelry pouch. The groomsmen received a travel cooler filled with their favorite 12 pack of beer.
What was your most special moment of the day?
Wow! There were a lot of those, but I would definitely say it was the moment I stood at the isle and saw my husband looking at me with that look that every girl dreams of. It was perfect!
Did you have kids at your wedding? What did you do for them?
We did have kids at our wedding. They enjoyed feeding the fish in the fish pond at CJ’s Off the Square. They also love to dance, so they all danced their little hearts out at the reception. They had a great time!
Did you Do It Yourself? Or, did you leave it to the professionals?
We did the planning ourselves. Thankfully we had Amy (wedding coordinator with CJ’s) to provide us with vendor referrals and suggestions. This was a huge help! There are so many wedding vendors out there it’s difficult to know where to begin.
If you did DIY, what was your favorite project? Why?
My favorite project was a fabric note board (3x10) given to us as a gift at one of our showers by very close friends. We used it at the wedding to display photos of us with our friends and families and sweet little love notes written on napkins that my husband and I wrote to each other early in our relationship while having dinner at a local restaurant one night. It was a big hit!

Wedding Rewind:
What would you do differently if you could start back at the beginning?
I would have started the planning process sooner. We decided to get married one year after being engaged so that we wouldn’t feel rushed. We chose our venue one month after being engaged. We were so excited to get the most important item out of the way, we took 5 more months off. We didn’t start planning until 6 months before our wedding. A year seems like a long time, but in retrospect it really isn’t when planning a wedding. It was, literally, the shortest year of my life.
What do you consider the biggest waste of time and/or money?
The limo service. We had an after party and spent the night at the Marriott in Cool Springs, which is about 5 to 7 minutes from CJ’s. Not to mention the mishaps by the limo service. We definitely would not incur this expense if we had it to do over again.
What do you consider the best value for the service and product?
jHenderson Photography. Her prices are competitive and she offers individual packages depending on your needs. You definitely get the most bang for your buck. Best of all her photos are beautiful!
What was the neatest thing you found for your wedding? CJ’s Off the Square. The most important thing to us was to find a venue that we could have our wedding and reception at and that was beautiful and different at the same time. CJ’s provided all those aspects for us. It is quaint and cozy and we truly felt at home.
What was your biggest {and best} splurge? CJ’s and jHenderson Photography.
Absolutely beautiful! We hope you like what you see. Definitely check out more of jHenderson Studio's work and don't forget to ask her about Shoot & Burn! Thank you Jen & Andy for sharing your wedding with us we wish you all the best!
When we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of wedding planning, it's easy to overlook what's at the core - a marriage. Once in a while, we meet a gem of a bride whose vision isn't all about the glitter or themes but one who cherishes the moments that she wanted as part of her special day, with lots of unique personalized touches that were such a joy to see. For Lauren and William, their wedding was a day spent with family and friends from near and far, one that was capturedl in gorgeous photographs, and super fun photobooth pics.
Simply Vintage - Real Wedding Feature submitted by Photo Booth Nashville
Bride ~ Lauren Stephens
Groom ~ William Branson IV
Wedding Details:
April 10, 2010, ceremony 5:00 pm, reception 7:00 pm
Ceremony- St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Franklin, TN (pivate ceremony, family only)
Reception: Houston Station, Nashville, TN
Approximately 140 guests at reception
Wedding Style:
What was your wedding style?
This is hard for me to pin down. There were definitely a lot of vintage elements, but the reception felt like a really fun mix of vintage and urban.
What were your colors? Why did you choose them?
Light Pink + Gray. The colors had the vintage feel I was going for.
What did you use for inspiration? {magazines? blogs? websites? etc.}
I mostly used blogs for inspiration. East Side Bride, Once Wed, etc. (Ashley adds - be sure to check out the East Side Bride's feature on Lauren's wedding. It's honest, candid and hilarious!)
Wedding Scoop:
What was your wedding WOW factor? {What did your guests love?}
There were a lot of things that continue to be talked about. One was the Photo Booth Nashville. The other? I played a song for my husband w/ my guitar and harmonica at the reception. I guess not many people had seen a bride with a guitar + harmonica holder.
What did you give as favors to your guests?
We had a photo booth, so the “favors” were the printed photo strips.
How did you personalize your wedding?
There were a lot of things that made our wedding very reflective of us. (Of course the photo booth + my guitar playing helped). The groom’s cupcakes had skulls on them, which is something of a theme in our apartment. My family + extended family are from Louisiana and we had a lot of guests from the wedding from Louisiana, as well. When we left, we had a Second Line Parade. It is a New Orleans tradition in which a brass band plays and those who follow twirl a parasol and a white handkerchief in the air. It was a way for us to bring my home state to our wedding.
What did you give your bridesmaids and groomsmen?
My sister was my only bridesmaid, so I ordered her a monogrammed Lucite tray. We gave our dads ties from Psycho Bunny, and we gave our cousins who were readers/ushers monogrammed money clips. I also had hair lovelies made for some close friends + female cousins from Oh My Deer on Etsy.
What was your most special moment of the day?
Pinning down one special moment would be pretty difficult, since the entire day was phenomenal. But actually walking down the aisle with my dad, seeing faces of my family smiling at me, and seeing William waiting for me at the end would probably have to take the cake.
Did you have kids at your wedding? What did you do for them?
No, we didn’t have any kids at the wedding.
Did you Do It Yourself? Or, did you leave it to the professionals?
I honestly have to say that I am NOT much of a DIY-er. However, my mom did take on a couple of projects. One being that she hand stamped 100 handkerchiefs with fleur de lis + tied them with a cute ribbon for our second line parade.
Wedding Vendors:
~ Planner: Elegant Weddings By Angela (ElegantWeddingsbyAngela.com)
~ Cake(s): The Bake Shoppe
~ Caterer: Chef’s Market
~ Photographer: Laura Dart, D'art Photographie (DartPhotographie.com)
~ Stationery: Save the Dates were designed by my best friend, Megan Willoughby. The wedding invitations were SMOCK, from Salutations in Charlotte, NC. Tags for handkerchiefs + photo booth reminder were made by Erin Duffy at Social Graces in Hillsboro Village. ~ Bridesmaid Dresses: I only had one bridesmaid: my sister. We had her dress made by a wedding store in Charlotte, NC called Hayden-Olivia. This is also where I bought my wedding dress.
~ Rings: We had our rings made.
~ Music: For the ceremony, we had a good friend, Dan Hochhalter, play violin. At the reception, the Malemen were our band and they ROCKED. Everyone loved them!
~ Decorations/Detail:Nashville Event Lighting, Photo Booth Nashville
~ Bridal Gown: Vineyard Collection
~ Tuxes: No tuxes. Our dads + the groom had their suits made.
~ Accessories: Veil was made for me, purchased at Hayden-Olivia in Charlotte, NC.
~ Flowers: The fabulous Chase Rivers.
~ Transportation: We hired a trolley to take our family members who attended the ceremony from the hotel downtown to the church in Franklin. For that, we used Franklin Trolley. The bride + groom left the wedding + reception in a Packard that was owned by a friend of the bride.
Who were your favorites? {the ones you would highly recommend to your best friend}
Elegant Weddings By Angela. Hands down. She + Susan Able (our coordinator) helped guide us through the previously unavigated waters of the wedding industry and I did not feel that they let us down one time. All of the vendors they recommended were completely professional + helpful. I would recommend Houston Station (HoustonStationNashville.com) to ANYONE. Jeff Thornhill, who runs the place, is unbelievably helpful. Chef’s Market also went above + beyond.
Wedding Rewind:
What would you do differently if you could start back at the beginning?
Honestly, there aren’t a lot of things about the execution of the wedding that I would have done differently. (Let me also add that none of this could have been done without my tireless mother). However, I would have been more specific about the photographs I wanted taken at the reception.
What do you consider the best value for the service and product?
I have to say, Chef’s Market is the absolute way to go for catering in Nashville. They have catering down to a science. They are professional, helpful, great with logistics, and the food is great! I honestly would recommend them to anyone.
What was the neatest thing you found for your wedding?
It is more of an emotional thing than anything else. But all of the people who love you most in the world are all in one room, some coming from far, far away. It is an amazing thing to share that day with people who love you that much.
What was your biggest {and best} splurge?
This wasn’t built into our budget, so I have to say that the photo booth definitely takes the cake. We have the most hilarious pictures of our friends, and you can definitely tell which ones were taken later in the night. Everyone is STILL talking about it, 2 months later!
Congratulations and all the best to Lauren and William!
