What is The Simple Plan?
The Simple Plan is a 2-day workshop focused on writing a business plan. It is open to all wedding industry professionals: from start-ups just getting their feet wet to experienced pros who are looking to refresh their business.
The Simple Plan is a no-sweat, no-fuss, piece-of-cake, easy-peasy approach to writing a business plan. We've taken out the dirty work and made this fun and collaborative. Spend 2 days working ON your business, instead of IN your business.

A business plan is a roadmap which guides you in the creation of a well-rounded self-sustainable business. We'll examine your business from all angles: your company vision, your marketing strategy, your operational structure, and your financial plan. You WILL walk out of the workshop with a business plan in hand.

Michelle Loretta LOVES to have coffee with wedding professionals. She loves to talk shop and discuss business strategy. So, in 2009 she started a blog: Sage Wedding Pros. This blog would evolve to cover all things business in the wedding and event industry. These days, Sage Wedding Pros is a consultancy dedicated to educating small business owners. The company's mission is to create sustainable business in the wedding and events industries. Michelle joined the wedding industry when she launched her stationery business in 2004: mmm... paper. She has a background in finance, having armed herself with a BS in Accounting from University of Southern California and having spent her early career working for Deloitte LLP. She spent 5 years in the fashion industry as a sales manager for DDLA, and a visual merchandiser for Coach, Inc. In 2008, Michelle co-founded the wedding industry not-for-profit Get Hitched Give Hope.
Kelly Simants joined Sage Wedding Pros in 2009 and partnered with Michelle Loretta to develop The Simple Plan, an easy-peasy approach to writing business plans for the wedding industry. Her background in training and development, as well as her 8 years experience in the wedding industry enabled her to lead the charge for taking The Simple Plan on a national tour this year. Her expertise lies in the people components of an organization's training, organizational design, leadership development, employee relations, staffing and strategic planning. In 2008, she also co-founded the wedding industry not-for-profit Get Hitched Give Hope, and was responsible for overall procurement and event logistics.
