aLoft: Hot Hotel For Your Guests, Your NYE Crew or For You & Your Boo

Monday, December 29, 2008

Monday, December 29, 2008

I heart aLoft. I checked out the rooms, the pool, the lounge and more at its Grand Opening party. I really do love this place and couldn't wait to show you real pictures from the happenings spot!

What I really love is that it's a great option for: - a girl's night out - a special night with you and your fiance PLUS the Den Sport's Spa for Men is right next door so you can treat him to a men's massage or indulge too with a couple's massage - a small bridal shower or bridal luncheon in their private room - and wedding guest accommodations Here are the pics that Kristen McBryde (Director of Sales) shared with me. She is the ABG contact so feel free to contact her to make your guest room block.

And, if you don't have plans for you and your boo (or girl crew) for New Year's Eve, aLoft knows how to throw a party. The grand opening party was hot! Here's the flyer for their NYE party.

And, here's another NYE party option by Nashville Lifestyles. Looks like a fun night too!

Great Finds for Nashville Grooms…Since It’s Your Wedding Too!

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

As you've noticed, I am trying to catered to grooms to be too. I never want to appear biased.

Last month, Nycole discussed proposal planning...today, Sarah of Music City Events has agreed to help grooms get involved in the bridal festivities.

See - we're groom friendly:).

Guest Post: Sarah of Music City Events, a full service event planning and design firm in Nashville, Tennessee.

Wedding planning and men...doesn't sound quite right, does it? While it doesn't seem to mix well, men are becoming more involved in the wedding process than ever. Many are no longer content to stand aside and just show up on the wedding day and kudos to them! It's every bit their big day as it is a bride's. Let's take a look at how we can help the guys out there who are dying to be involved and maybe pull a few skeptics in along the way! (Cake topper: www.mcphee.com)

Modern parties tend to include the groom and have central themes. It lets your groom in on the festivities, allowing you to celebrate your upcoming nuptials together. Great couple options are cookouts, scavenger hunts, or my personal favorite: Stock the Bar parties (register for bar items and host fabulous cocktail parties after you're married!). This is a wonderful opportunity to gather with all your friends and celebrate. Be sure to clearly specify the theme when creating your invitations to these showers. Nashville Grooms-to-Be: Help with Your Proposal! Part 2

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

If you didn't read yesterday's, be sure to start there to read Part 1 on perfect wedding proposals. Engagement Planning is a somewhat new service being offered by wedding planners, like Creative Celebrations, Inc., to ensure magic from engagement through the honeymoon. Engagement planning can make a big difference in the small details...my real life example: My hubby, John, did a great job. But, I will say that a few elements (only a few) were missing. He rented a limo (it turned out to be a lemon so he ended up driving me); he took me to the spa for a massage/facial (but massages tend to make you sleepy); he took me to the park for a picnic and planned to proposal at sundown (but he didn't pay attention and the sun was already down); he had a stranger take pics from a tree using a disposable camera - yeah -  no focus so you know those pics didn't turn out at all. After I said yes, we headed to The Palm where our close friends and family met us for a private dinner. John did a great job. It was memorable but 1) most guys don't plan this well and 2) there were a few minor tweaks that could have made it simply amazing like having a professional photographer w/a super zoom at the park. My point an engagement planner can help the groom propose in a way that will be memorable, sentimental and a personal representation of what makes your relationship special OR simply add small but needed details that are needed.

Plus, hiring an engagement planner allows you to rapport with your chosen wedding planner on a smaller project before your wedding, so that you know whether they are perfect for you. Gals need inspiration...Guys need action items. Grooms, here are your actions items - 1) Write down: what makes your relationship unique, how you met, what the two of you value, what you do that makes her smile and vice versa...you get the idea. 2) Contact Creative Celebrations to speak with an Engagement Planner and see how they can help plan with the wedding proposal of a lifetime. Be sure to take your list! Creative Celebrations, Inc. is one Nashville-area company that is here to help in anyway! They can work with the groom-to-be to develop the wedding proposal of a lifetime - whether it's concept or execution. They will oversee every aspect of the proposal to ensure that you will be overwhelmed at your demonstration of love for her through your proposal. Whether you want a simple or elaborate proposal, intimate or shared with family and friends, in public or in private, Creative Celebrations, Inc. can help. 3) Check out the December/January issue of the Coupon Mint for a Creative Celebrations discount coupon that can be applied toward their engagement planning service. Remember, proposals and weddings are all about knowing exactly what's special to you and incorporating memorable details into your day to make it an unforgettable occasion that represents what's most important to you as a couple. Good event coordinators will help make your dreams a reality while ensuring your plan is well thought and well resourced. Two more wedding proposals that represent the couples' personalities

The TV proposal - wouldn't have worked for me because I am much more private and like sentimental over glam but he knew her and made it happen!

The Video Proposal: Are you two cheesy, corny and silly? Something like this might work for you. I can tell a lot about them...by this proposal!

Pampering and Parties for the Nashville Groom-to-Be

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

Wednesday, October 8, 2008 I rarely do any blogs for grooms. It's not that I don't love Nashville grooms, I just was never a groom...so...well I can't relate:). But, I know that grooms are a big part of this wedding. It would be pointless without ya. So, when Latrice of Bridal Opulence told me about her newest find - The Sports Den for men, I was super excited and asked her to give Nashville brides and grooms a sneak peek into this fabulous find. Guest Blogger: Bridal Opulence is a Nashville-based, wedding coordinator who offers services ranging from full planning to day of wedding coordination.

I had the pleasure of meeting Carlina, the Spa Director for The Den Sports Spa at the Grand Opening of the new aloft Hotel. The Den Sports Spa is Nashville's newest & only spa designed specifically for men! The Den is located in Franklin Tennessee on the D1 Sports Training Campus, and specializes in grooming, massage therapy & skin treatments for the modern man!

Brides - this would be a great gift to give to your future hubby as well as a possible option for the groom-to-be & his attendants to get dressed & receive spa services the day of the wedding ceremony! The place is super masculine with a very contemporary vibe.

Carlina, invited me out for a tour last week & I really fell in love with the space. It has contemporary artwork w/masculine hardware & a strong masculine influence with rich tan brown & electric blue walls, hardwoods & plasma TV's. Their list of services are offered for men only, however ladies don't be jealous as they recently developed a Spa Package for ladies called the Teru Eshe Spa Club. The services for men include but are not limited to:

  • Therapeutic Massage
  • Deep Tissue Massage
  • The Den Facial
  • Facial Tune-Up
  • Grooming (they house a Master Barber)
  • Hands & Feet Maintenance
  • Executive Head Trip Massage
  • Hand Detailing

Don't you just love the masculine names for their services!!! Which really helps ease those "manly men" into the whole spa concept.

The Den also carries a very nice array of quality retail product lines which include: The Art of Shaving NY, Naturopathica Skincare & Redken For Men.

Before I get to the great images that I captured while on my tour, I must say that I had the pleasure of experiencing their massage therapist first hand, and let me tell you....she was fab-u-lous! Out of all the massages that I have had over the past few years, Lakesha is by far the best!!!

Take a sneak peek at The Den Sports Spa: Retail Space: Coffee & Juice Bar Master Barbering Space Their Signature Room: The Den Additional wait area Facial/esthetician area: 4 Serene Massage Rooms Manicure & Pedicure Space Locker Room I was able to capture the essence of the spa, but honestly to see it in person it's breathtaking & refreshing! I know the man in your life will love it & will feel special that you thought enough of him to send him to get a "manly tune up"! To schedule services please contact Carlina & she will take very good care of you! Be sure to tell her Latrice referred ya!! They also have a private room which would be great space for private events...bachelor parties, etc. The Den Sports Spa 7105 South Springs Drive, Suite 208 Franklin, Tn 37067 615.715.1814 Email: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) *Located in Cool Springs on the D1 Sports Training Campus*

Fab Friday Finds: Groom-Friendly Wedding Registry Gifts

Friday, July 18, 2008

Friday, July 18, 2008

I just got back from the Franklin Bridal Ball and I am exhausted. I think I am coming down from a sugar high from all of the cake. But, I did learn at the bridal show that some of you check my blog at midnight because you know that's when I post. Who knew that you knew my blog schedule?? Now, the pressure is on! I am sure you're expecting to see a recap from the show but I'll do my full recap of the bridal show on Monday. (Please come back on Monday.) Until then, today's post is all about gifts for grooms. Yeah remember them...the ones who help make this wedding thing possible. A few weeks ago, Tara of Lavish Event Planning blogged about The Man Registry. Then, I got a myspace request from them requesting a friend "add". Now, I don't just add anyone as my friend. I mean I take the whole myspace serious. I mean -- are you based in Nashville? Are you a bride/groom? I mean, my site is all about keeping it local. But, when I find something unique, I make concessions:). Usually grooms are left out of the whole registry thing. They don't understand the fuss over china, stemware, etc. So, I thought I would show the grooms some love. I checked out the website and while a lot of the items for guys are typical - monogrammed flasks, keychains-- there were some neat items that I think grooms would appreciate. But then, I am a girl picking out gifts a guy might like which might defeat the purpose. Anyway, here are some my faves, based on what I've learned from my hubby, John. Guys - I did my best:).

Guys like cold drinks:

Indoor/Outdoor Party Fridge

How neat! What a chic way to keep drinks cool while keeping your party "hot".

Nostalgia Electrics Six Bottle Shot Dispenser

Nostalgia Electrics Retro 18 Can Vending Machine

Guys like to grill

Chefmaster Stovetop BBQ Grill

Salton Indoor/Outdoor BBQ Grill

OK - We got this as a wedding gift and we totally use it all the time! We also got a crock pot and believe it or not, John uses it nearly every week. It's so easy for him to throw in a roast, some veggies and let it cook all day. We've got a great meal when we return home because it has a digital timer and turns from cook to warm when it's done. Great gift for newlyweds. If you don't have a crock pot on your list...add it now!

Guys get lost

Averatec Voya 350 GPS Receiver Navigation

Guys like handy stuff

Garage Door Laser Parking Guide

Guys like to chill

Panama Hammocks IslaGrande Blue Hammock

3 in 1 Game Table (Foosball, Air Hockey, Stick Hockey)

Guys like electronics

Samsonic 5.1 MP Digital Video Camera

Olympus 8 MP Waterproof Digital Camera

Xbox 360 Arcade System

Oh - the site also has a helpful repository of articles for grooms on bachelor parties, wedding duties, etc.

Have a great weekend!!
