One of those is Brides by Lisa, whose owner Lisa Johnson, has served Nashville brides for years, receiving great reviews and feedback. She loves to pamper brides while making them and their bridal party entourages absolutely beautiful. Her brides have been featured on Style Me Pretty and many local and national bridal magazines.
Some of her lovely Nashville brides are below. Check out her Pinterest boards for stunning before and after photos makeup.

I used to wonder why on TV, celebrities always had such big hair. As my diva girlfriend told me, there's a difference between street hair and TV hair.
After my Q+A with Donald of Donald Yeager Photography, I now understand that the same is true for makeup and your bridal photos. When you are spending thousands of dollars on your wedding, you definitely want to look your best and a professional makeup artist is one pro to consider.
As a Nashvillle wedding photographer, his goal is to make sure your wedding photos are remarkable. Keep reading for Donald's insightful advice on wedding day makeup.
Makeup: Katie Russo
Ashley/ABG: Do brides usually wear makeup for their engagement session? Portraits? Wedding day?
Donald Yeager Photography: While most brides wear makeup for various sessions, they usually only hire a professional makeup artist for their wedding day.
ABG: Should they consider makeup for all of these sessions or do some sessions warrant makeup more than others?
Donald Yeager Photography: I would highly recommend that brides consider hiring a makeup artist for ALL of their sessions. Makeup artists, like photographers, make sure that you look your very best in your images. They can more perfectly match makeup to your specific skin tones and recommend complimentary colors to make your best features pop (e.g.: eyes, cheekbones, etc.)
ABG: Why is makeup important for the above recommended sessions? What difference does makeup make?
Donald Yeager Photography: Often, brides are comfortable applying everyday makeup, but they are unaware of the differences in applying makeup for photography. For one, the makeup for photography ideally should be richer and deeper than everyday makeup---so that it will best show up in images. Also, most brides aren’t aware that some makeup products can actually take away from their natural beauty in images. A great example of this is mineral makeup: it can make your skin appear shiny (like you are sweating) instead of matte and glowing.
Makeup: Unruli
ABG: Would you also recommend professional hair styling too?
Donald Yeager Photography: Yes! Professional hair styling is ideal for brides. In addition to makeup, some makeup artists also style hair. Finding a makeup artist who provides both services is beneficial, because they can save you very valuable time, especially on your wedding day. A lot of makeup artists come to you, which will eliminate the needs to travel between multiple locations to get your hair and makeup done.
ABG: What else do brides sometimes not consider that might improve their photos?
Donald Yeager Photography: One huge tip I give brides is to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Try to drink as much water as possible 48 hours before your session (64-80 ounces per day is ideal); avoid caffeine and alcohol in excess. Dehydration can cause the skin to be puffy and blotchy, not to mention bloating. The second tip: try to get 6-8 hours sleep the night before your shoot and especially the night before your wedding day-- your skin will look it’s best well rested and well hydrated, and you’ll feel your best, too!

While I'm not a makeup girl, one thing I now know is that when it comes to being photographed, pro makeup artists know how to play up your gorgeousness for the camera. So, don't cut corners. If you are planning to hire a great photographer like Donald Yeager, be sure to also hire a great makeup artist.

UPDATE: Open House has been postponed till February 28th so mark your calendars for StudioWed Nashville's next open house at their office in Edgehill Village. This is a casual get-together where you have the opportunity to look at the various services StudioWed provides and, unlike a bridal show where everyone's rushing to meet everyone else, you can take your time to mingle and chat with wedding vendors.

StudioWed works with wedding vendors from various parts of a wedding day from florists, to bridal gown boutiques and photographers. One of StudioWed's vendors is wedding makeup specialist Amy Lynn Larwig. Kelly, StudioWed's resident blogger, is in the throes of planning her own wedding and recently had Amy make her up and also gave us this inspiration board of makeup ideas for your big day. (Original post here).
{From top left, clockwise: neutral hues, smoky eyes, red lips, curled and blond, curled and blonder, brown curls and green drops, bangs!, brown sideswept, pink & black, tawny, brown rolls, fascinator.}
Because they have so much experience with weddings and just live, breathe, and love all-things weddings, StudioWed is a great, in-person resource for ideas, tips, and inspiration - like this beach-inspired board to warm you up a little bit. (original post here)

From top left, clockwise: coral beach details, lobster place cards, starfish aisle markers, pretty pretty pretty beachy colored pencils, rustic basket-lanterns, wooden oar headboard, driftwood signage, seaglass escort cards, pretty natural & blue tablescape, driftwood centerpieces, pale blue beach wedding details, message in a bottle, rustic furniture on the beach, frothy mint tiered skirt, beach suite, oyster shell with pearls.
For more inspiration visit StudioWed's blog or attend their upcoming open house.
