Going behind the scenes of a wedding never ceases to amaze me - especially when you get a sneak peek of real Nashville wedding pros in action. Seriously, when I sit down and chat with pros - especially videographers and photographers and they tell me how they get shots and how even "photojournalistic" or "candid" photos aren't always candid. I mean really - women take hours to look natural...so do many great photos. So, when I hear all of the stories about how weddings come together, the tricks of the trade, and the special techniques that go into making weddings magical - I am even more impressed with the skills of our Nashville wedding vendors. Here is another great example. McNeal Video Blog and Gambill Photography are two real wedding pros. They have many years of experience and tons satisfied clients. They make a great team and find themselves serving many of Nashville's discriminating brides. Anyway, Angie of Gambill shares a recent Nashville wedding photo shoot and gives you an idea of how she "hustles" to get great photos that look effortless.
Guest Post: Gambill Photography is a Middle Tennessee wedding photographer
It's always great when we get to work with the ladies at McNeal Video. I checked my email this morning to find some pics from Lynette McNeal that just made me laugh. So I had to post them. A little background... the bride and groom were gracious enough to let me do some photos outside even though it was FREEZING and the wind was going strong. The veil just did not want to stay in. So Nina, my incredible assistant, was holding it. The effect of the veil blowing in the wind was just too beautiful for me not to get some pictures of it.

One of the resulting images...

Go check out Cheryl's notes on the McNeal Video blog. She always has some great anecdotes to tell about the weddings. I'll be posting more on this wedding in a few days.

Friday, November 14, 2008 Over the last few weeks, I have gotten 3 or 4 emails from brides raving about the work of Focal Point Cinematic Weddings. Yes, I love their videography and knew that you would when I first saw their unique style. As I mentioned in my emails to ABG brides, I haven't hired them (obviously they didn't do my wedding because they weren't around when I got married) but I have met Kelsey - part of the fab duo and she rocked. So, if you are interested in their work, definitely give them a call to learn more. You already like their style, now you just need to interview them (like you would any other wedding vendor). If you like what you learn, hire them, if not, find other Nashville wedding videographers in my wedding directory. If you are a fan of Focal Point's work, like me, check out their custom DVD Artwork - they are one artsy group! Guest Post: Focal Point Cinematic Weddings is a Nashville-based, wedding videography company.
Happy Fall!
We wanted to share with you some of our custom artwork DVD covers. Each wedding is unique and so the design for the artwork will be as well! The two examples represent the contemporary and vintage feels from each of the weddings:

Franklin, TN-based, McCoy Studios and I were vendors at the Fish Bridal show and brides loved them! When I checked out their website, I realized why. Colors that pop, photos that wow = winning combination. (Plus, they are kind of new to the wedding world so their rates are lower than expected...book them before they raise their rates!:)
Check out their photos and give them a call if their style = your wedding style.

Since I am not invited to all of these swank Nashville weddings (although Megan did invite me to her swank wedding for next weekend! Thanks Megan), I live vicariously through Nashville wedding vendors who come back and tell me all of the details. So, I really look forward to reading Cheryl's Notes. Cheryl is a member of the McNeal Video super team. I am not sure how they have time to video, edit and blog are in-depth as they do...but I sure appreciate it. So, I really wanted to share Jennifer and Jonathan's wedding, as videoed by McNeal. The wedding speaks for itself. You can see ALL of the intricate details and check get up close and personal with a Nashville Symphony wedding. Plus, as you can see, McNeal captured everything! Jennifer and Jonathan were married at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center on October 26. They were surrounded by friends and family as they exchanged vows; then celebrated with a jazz brunch afterwards. It was a beautiful day for the wedding -- blue sky, warm weather, and love was in the air! Cheryl's Notes has all the details of the day, as well as lots of photos; so be sure to check it out. Jennifer and Jonathan are a charming couple that were obviously made for each other. I can't imagine one without the other. They truly are a special couple, and we felt honored to be part of their day.
Read more about the Nashville Symphony wedding here or visit the McNeal Video screening room for real Nashville wedding videos.

Thursday, October 30, 2008 You attend Nashville bridal shows, visit AshleysBrideGuide.com and know other Nashville brides who've recommended great Nashville wedding vendors. But, you've decided to have a destination wedding - now what? No problemo! Most wedding vendors are open to travel, which is great! So whether you're getting married in the TN area or not, you can take our southern hospitality and great style wherever you choose to wed. For some vendors, this won't work...but for many wedding categories - like videography, photography, wedding coordination, event and floral design - it might be a great option. Enjoy this fun, beach side wedding by Myrick Studios, which features his recent destination wedding in Destin, FL. I'm jealous just looking at the pics! Guest Blogger: Myrick Studios is a Nashville-based, wedding photographer. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Chris & Tara down in Destin, Florida to shoot their wedding. These two were high school sweethearts and have been together for 10 years. You could totally see the joy on their faces because the big day was finally here!
There are more great wedding photographs from Tara and Chris' wedding at Myrick Studios.
