Family-Style, Italian Dining for Your Bridal Shower, Rehearsal Dinner, or Any Celebratory Event

Wednesday, July 13, 2011

Weddings are a time for existing family and new family to come together, to get to know each other, to love each other. What better way to do this than over a delicious, authentic Italian meal? Being of Italian decent, I know there doesn’t ever have to be a reason to feast, but if there is an occasion to celebrate (think bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, engagement party)…boy, is there ever a feast!

The kind staff at Buca di Beppo specializes in family-style Italian dining. Here you will choose appetizers, entrees and desserts to share with your entire table. Imagine a spread of Mozarella Caprese and Apple Gorganzola salads, Shrimp Fra Diavolo, Baked Rigatoni, Cheese Manicotti, Chicken Marsala and Eggplant Parmigiana topped off with homemade cheesecake and Tiramisu. Serving any meal in this fashion gets the conversation going: “Pass me the…” or “Is there anymore…” It’s a great and clever way to break the ice for those events where everyone starts out as strangers. Believe me, after a meal like this, everyone will be family!

I've know Ashley for awhile. She built a thorough website and developed a trusted name that I am proud to be a part of. It is the premiere place for Nashville brides to go when planning their dream wedding and I am happy to help make those dreams come true. I have always loved weddings. I am very detailed and enjoy a lot of the mundane things that come with creating a wedding (creating the favors, the programs, or setting the tables). I love the excitement that comes from seeing a a wedding through from beginning to end. After a few years "out of the business" growing my family, I am excited to get back into the wedding and event industry. I look forward to seeing all of the new and creative things brides and vendors are doing to make weddings unique.

Family style dining is definitely a trend! I have been utilizing this dining style for the past year and for a variety of events. The first was for the Daryl Waltrip Charity Event, we served the dinner atop large lazy susans. The service was provided by the Hutton Hotel culinary staff. Then again at a rehearsal dinner at 111 provided by Chef’s Market. In any atmosphere it infuses a sense of family and conversation among guest who might not have much in common but EVERYONE loves good food! It’s the heart of a seated dining experience and fills the body and soul! Guests are relaxed and more apt to feel more at ease when on the dancefloor! And it is always a plus to make friends! This also allows a fun challenge for me as an event designer to focus on a variety of features that go beyond the traditional tablescape. NOTE: make for certain that each table has adequate lighting so that guests can see what they are eating as well as highlighting the food display.
