Bridal Candy - Our Favorite Nashville Wedding Blogs for July 2011
Monday, August 1, 2011
Can you believe we're halfway through the year and we're almost done with summer? Here we are with our roundup of our Bridal Candy for July 2011. They're not really in any particular order of preference, and are compiled based on how well they catch our team's eye. From really cool pictures to meaningful wedding posts, good advice to beautiful stationery, here are some of the ones that we think are worth sharing.
10 - Great Spotlight on Jay Qualls, Maples Wedding Cakes

We've enjoyed watching Jay, wedding cake extraordinaire, and his journey to stardom - from the pages of Martha Stewart magazine to The Next Great Baker. So, when we spotted this portrait of him via Dove's blog, we were elated to see a friend having a wonderfully captured, fun photo shoot. See more here.
9 - To Sparkle or Not To Sparkle?

8 - We Love Brides... and Babies!

Ok, not 100% wedding related BUT if you are in the Nashville wedding industry, you'll be tickled pink and blue over our new bridal babies!
On June 6, Jen {and hubby Daniel} of the Photographix, welcomed twins into their family. It's been a long journey for them and we're so happy they were blessed with not 1 but 2 beautiful babies. Read more about their funny and incredible journey to parenthood here.
On July 2, Kristin {of Simply Stunning} and hubby Brian of Brian Kaplan Photography introduced their cutie-pie daughter. We can't wait to see more of her! Meet her here.
7 - Charming Invitation Suite

Contemporary vector art comes together with a traditional display of romance and rustic details in this invitation suite by Design in August. I love the use of grey and I especially love the initials in a heart carved on the tree trunk - there are few things that are sweeter or more romantic than that! What a great idea! For more details and pictures of the invitation click here.
6 - Sweet!

Nothing like delicious popsicles from Las Paletas to make this wedding even sweeter. The love Kate and Paul have for each other are so apparent in the pictures; it's hard not to melt seeing wedding pictures in which the bride and groom clearly adore each other and are having so much fun. More pictures from Kristyn Hogan here.
5 - Timeless & Intimate:

We walk down the aisle with the bride, her mom and grandmother at this wedding at The Mill in Lebanon. With the right decor and ambience, the 300-strong guest list still felt like an intimage wedding of 20 to the happy couple. Join in on the fun here.
4 - Eye Candy Bridal Session

This picture is just brilliant and it definitely caught my attention. Even if he didn't intend it, Joe Hendrick's bride looks like she's perched precariously on a crossbeam while her dress cascades over and down behind her. Or maybe it's just me. Turns out she's leaning on the balcony ledge and I'm just a sucker for a pretty bridal session, this picture in particular. This is just a fantastic eye for framing and picture composition at work! More from the bridal session here.

2 - Vintage, Bird Inspired Wedding

Put a bird on it! This bird-inspired wedding with florals designed by Brocade Designs was filled with do-it-yourself details. Hillary of Brocade told me the bride also has her own line of paper goods - crafty! And who doesn't like a wedding with a candy and pie buffet? More deliciousness here.
1 - A Truly Inspiring, Do-It-Yourself Wedding

We adore this wedding and it wasn't hard to make it our #1 pick this month. Jamie and Andy's wedding was so unique, so much fun and so personalized with their hand-made details. What struck us more than the pictures were Jamie's words and how they kept the big picture in mind - their marriage. Truly inspirational. Fall in love here.
