Today's real wedding feature is from one of our Facebook blog contest finalists Aspen and Thomas and it's adorable. {I simply love the bride's name!!} Their charming, Southern-inspired wedding at Front Porch Farms was filled with great little details, from the directional signs (hand-painted for that rustic, DIY look) to the florals.

How would you describe your style as a couple?
Our style is very rustic country. We are both enjoy décor that is centered around the outdoors and colors/textures that are found in nature. We wanted a wedding day that was a relaxed celebration of the beginning of our lives together while communicating our love of everything country.
How did you incorporate that style into your wedding.
The venue was very important to me because we both wanted an outdoor wedding, but not a venue that required us to purchase a certain “package” that did not reflect our personalities. When I first saw the website for Front Porch Farms and spoke with the owner, Kathy Best, I knew that her farm was the perfect mix of a peaceful, beautiful outdoor setting that still had so much charm and all the amenities to make our day relaxing while still letting us choose the vendors that worked best for us.

The colors for our wedding reflected all the natural colors of fall in Tennessee while the décor was very rustic. My husband made “tree trunk” cake stands, we both wore cowboy boots for the ceremony and reception, Front Porch Farms provided wooden candle holders for centerpieces, quilts and straw bales for additional reception seating along with a rustic gift wagon and farm house style tables. The bar-b-q meal at the reception and the Moon Pie favors for our guests continued the theme.
What was the favorite aspect of your wedding?
Other than beginning our lives together, the favorite thing about our wedding is that it was unique and in a breathtaking setting.

Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?
The venue was definitely a splurge for our budget but it was well worth it to set the tone for our wedding.
We were able to save by working with Kathy Best to find the vendors that fit best within our budget. We also saved by making the arbor for our ceremony, making our cake stands, using centerpieces from the rehearsal dinner at the reception, borrowing aisle decorations, having very talented friends perform our ceremony music and asking a family member to make the groom’s cake.

Now that the wedding day is over, is there anything about your planning process you feel you could have done differently?
Our wedding planning process was very short! We were married exactly three months after becoming engaged. The only thing I would have done differently in the planning process would have been to have found our location more quickly.
In one sentence, what words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?
Take time to really find the details that you both love and that represent something special to you but when the wedding arrives, relax and savor your special day!

Thank you to Shots by Cheyenne for the wonderful pictures. Let us know what you think of Aspen and Thomas' wedding, we'd love to get your feedback.
