Make It Personal: Emma & Payton Blend Classic & Creative Touches In Wedding At Private Family Home

Friday, February 13, 2015

There is nothing like getting married at your family home.  It makes an already special day, even more special.  Jusk ask Emma and Payton, who were married last summer at Emma’s parent’s home and then headed over to the Stone Fox for a rockin’ after party.

With the help of their musician friends and Emma’s artistic skills, the Bradford wedding was one-of-a-kind and truly represented the couple's style and interests. The couple even drove off in a beautiful vintage car, which was perfectly captured by SheHeWe Photography!

Wedding Details

How would you describe your style as a couple?

Because Payton is a musician and I’m an art teacher, we appreciate creativity, but are still fairly traditional.

How did you incorporate that style into your wedding?

Payton found all the musicians to play at the reception and after party with the help of some friends in Nashville.  Our friend Drew Beskin sang the first dance songs. I created the artwork for the programs, hotel packets, and coozies. We chose to have the wedding at home and the Nashville after-party at the Stone Fox because they are places we know and love.

What was your (or your guests’) favorite aspect of your wedding?

We really loved how personal the whole thing was. It incorporated our interests, style, and favorite people & places.

Where did you splurge?  Where did you save/DIY?

We splurged on a great band for the Stone Fox and on the food for the reception.  We saved by creating the artwork and website ourselves and by not using a wedding planner.  Also, the tablecloths were linens from my mother, grandmother and Aunt.

Did any Nashville wedding vendors stand out as exceptional?

We LOVED working with SheHeWe.  They are a wonderfuly laid back couple who make you feel at ease from the beginning.   We could not have been happier getting to know them and having the beautful photographs from that entire weekend.

All of the people involved with the weekend were amazing.  We would recommend each and every one involved for wedding events or any occasion!

Now that the wedding day is over, is there anything about your planning process you feel you could have done differently?

I wish that I took more time to sit back and take it all in.  Everything moved so quickly that we blinked and were in the car leaving the reception. It goes by very quickly.

In one sentence, what words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?

Don’t worry!  If you didn’t think of it, odds are your guests won’t either and everyone is just there to celebrate you two.

Inspiration From Dress To Bling: Cake That’s Sophisticated & Chic, Just Like The Bride’s Gowns

Thursday, February 12, 2015

Anne began her cake design process with Signature Cakes by Vicki with a specific idea in mind. She hoped her cake would not only reflect her personality, but also reflect her wedding and reception dresses. Anne loved how attentive Vicki was to her vision as they worked together to create a beautiful and delicious cake that perfectly reflected a sophisticated, bling loving bride!

Anne & Kenton
Wedding Date: August 23, 2014
Wedding Venue: Hermitage Golf Course

What was the vision for your wedding?

Sophisticated chic with some bling

How did you find Signature Cakes?

I found her online. I loved her work. Also, she had rave reviews on her professionalism and talent.

What inspired your cake?

My wedding and reception dress, my colors and also the wedding style.

How did you approach the design for your wedding cake? Did you take pictures to Vicki or did you meet with her and answer questions about your dress, etc?

I did both. I initially met Vicki to discuss my style and the vision i desired for my wedding. I am quite prissy and i like all things bling and pretty. I also sent her pictures of both my dresses when they came in.

What did you want most from your cake?  great design, taste? specific details?

I liked that my cake was BEAUTIFUL and it reflected my personality. I loved the design and taste. That's EVERYTHING LOL!

What surprised you about the experience of designing your cake?

That Vicki was very attentive on what my vision was. Also, she was able to sketch the cake as we spoke about my vision. I also loved that she incorporated my wedding dresses design in to the cake. That was priceless to me :)

What did you like most about your cake?  The design!

What were your cake flavors?  Did you have them custom designed or were they standard?

For the brides cake we chose the Hazel Nut Nuttela and for the groom's cake we chose red velvet. They were both standard flavors.

Liberty Party Rental Offers Unique Seating Arrangement Ideas For Wedding Receptions

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

We’ve got great news: Opting for non-traditional, out-of-the-box seating ideas is a big crowd pleaser and adds some much-needed flavor to your wedding ceremony and reception. These days, brides have tossed uniformity out of the window, opting to mix round and square tables and other fun combos.

Liberty Party Rental has some pretty cool options you might decide to incorporate into your own wedding decor.  Check these out and let us know your favorites:

~~~
Mixing farm tables with traditional round tables
Instead of having one type of table, brides these days are choosing to mix rather than match their tables. Try having some round tables with linens and farm tables without linens to add a little variety to the reception.
Lounge seating
Nothing says modern like this style of seating. This look can be achieved using a radius couch, a round table and a mix of standard chairs.
Mix and match the design
Looking for a fun pattern? Look no further than these argyle-like patterned tables...
...or mix up your table styles with round and rectangle.
