Favorite Fabulous Bridal Gowns for Your Summer or Fall Wedding

Because of their diverse selection and knowledge of all-things bridal gowns, we went one-on-one with Talen, store manager at The White Room, to find out what Nashville brides are loving!

When I posed the question - how do you help your brides pick out what is appropriate for their venue or season - I was quite pleased to hear Talen say, "most of our brides don’t restrict themselves. We encourage them to find the gown they love and make it work for them." This is encouraging because so often, we end up getting what we feel magazines tell us is "correct" for our wedding at the sacrifice of what our hearts truly want. It's nice to know that The White Room isn't trying to pigeonhole anyone's choices! That said, here are some of their brides' favorites for the summer and fall wedding season.
Maggie Sotero
Venecia - Made of taffeta, this gown comes with a removeable shoulder strap that adds a touch of romance to the gown. Talen says that in spite of the heavier material, "brides really like it in for late summer or early fall."

Another favorite from Maggie Sottero according to Talen is Anniston, a lighter weight, fairy-tale like gown that's made of layers of tulle with a lace overlay that looks like it flatters the hips. It's so pretty how the lace trickles down the skirt. The corset-like back of the dress ups the romance ante! This gown would be perfect for any venue, indoors or out.

Fantasia: better described by Talen as having a "organza layered look that's even great for outdoor, country weddings but for brides who want to have a more high fashion look." This gown is available in The White Room's Murfreesboro location.

Pronovias
Alcanar: "The lace is phenomenal on it," gushed Talen, "It’s a moderate weight once it’s fitted properly and the layers are very light." The gown bustles pinned up on the outside in an English bustle. You may recognize this gown from the Royal Wedding Issue of Brides Magazine!
Simpler styles from Allure's Couture line, which The White Room carries, may appeal more to the bride who is looking for glamour without the volume. The styles Talen said are great for this summer are a very romantic and light weight. This one below with the swarovski crystals and an almost-mermaid shape is probably my favorite! I love the cut-out back and the gorgeous train.
Another one from Allure that Talen and the girls at The White Room wanted to share is this gown.
I can see why it's a favorite with brides - the gown is such a beautiful, classic shape and with the lace overlay on the bodice, it softens the straight neckline and creates this dreamy, very sweet gown that would be perfect for a garden wedding surrounded by colorful flowers and dainty details. "It has texture and dimension and brides are really starting to like that. It's very sweet, very romantic and very classic for the bride who doesn't want to look super trendy."
A few other trends Talen mentioned are adding very subtle additions of color using champagne or even grey sashes. When it comes to gowns, a lot of brides are now doing deeper ivories and even light golds but nothing crazy for the year.
Remember, it takes four to six months to order and receive your wedding gown.
