Wednesday, January 26, 2011
We can find wedding trends everywhere but what's hot for Nashville weddings? Based on what Ive seen, what local pros are excited about and what 2011 couples are planning, I've created a list of 5 Nashville Wedding Trends for 2011. I shared one trend on Better Nashville last week but believe me, I had much more to say:). Here's what you'll love for your Nashville wedding:
2011 Trends for Nashville Weddings
1) Celebration of Nashville: We love Nashville, whether you are a native (like myself) or moved here and found it to be a great treasure. Brides have always liked Nashville and wanted to infuse bits and pieces of our southern flair into their day but now, with the flood, brides are celebrating it even more!
- Hire local: Instead of importing wedding professionals from other cities, brides will hire more local wedding talent. Not only does this employ Nashvillians but it also it's also a great way to reduce your wedding carbon footprint:). Only Nashvililans know all the wonderful wedding venues and resources for your big day!
- Buy local: Looking for gifts for your bridal party or wedding guests? From mom to maids to wedding guests, Nashville brides will buy Nashville gifts, handmade here, that will give their guests/family a taste of what Nashville has to offer.

- Showcase Nashville - from down home fonts to only Nashville wedding venues - couples will select venues with more local character over generic spaces. More brides will seek to tell their story and include Nashville in some way. From venues like Loveless Cafe, CJ's Off the Square and Country Music Hall of Fame to Historic Cedarwood, Governor's Club and The Hermitage - going independently-owned {Nashville-owned) is the best way to showcase Nashville flair. Can't get these wedding venues anywhere else!
