Sweet Wedding Finds from Nashville’s Bridal Bliss
Friday, February 19, 2010
Last week, I was honored to speak at You're Invited's Bridal Bliss, a fun discussion about wedding planning.
You're Invited is a super adorable boutique in Belle Meade that houses swanky gifts and stationery and an event planning company. Anna heads the stationery side; Stephanie is the wedding and event planner.
The night was so informative and enjoyable that they've promised to do it regularly; which I think you'd love and that I look forward to.
You're Invited did a full recap on their blog, but here's some of what she covered mixed in with some of my comments. Always gotta add my two cents...see the "ABG" comments below. They're mine.
What you missed:
You're Invited Gifts, Paper and Events - we hosted the evening at the store. As a stationery store, as well as an event planning company, we offer one-stop shopping for brides. Sarah Smithson, with over 20 years in the stationery industry, offered a very informative discussion on stationery etiquette.
Bella Bridesmaid (bellabridesmaid.com) - sponsored a fashion show of the latest trends in bridesmaid's dresses for 2010
Nico and Lala - Nicole and Lauren talked about some of the custom work they can do for a wedding. Some examples of their custom work are seen in the store, and you can make an appointment to discuss your wedding with them at the store!
ABG: Gotta admit - The stationery company Nico and Lala supplied my wedding eye candy for the night! I fell in love with their work on my first visit to You're Invited last year. But, meeting the girls - who doesnt love the name LaLa - just sealed the deal. They're as fab as their custom stationery!
Here are a few things that You're Invited sells in store from their line but they also do custom creations like wedding labels and Nashville themed gift baskets.
Nashville Event Lighting - made a custom gobo for our store and Blake discussed how lighting really helps "make" a reception.
Ashley's Bride Guide - Ashley stopped by to introduce herself to our guests and to do what she does best-discuss all things weddings. Ashley also mentioned two must-have wedding budget items for brides: hire a wedding planner (we hope you'll consider You're Invited Events) and having lighting at your wedding! Ashley said both are essential for a successful wedding.
ABG: I was feeling like such a dork - right before I got up to chat, I realized that my turtleneck was on wrong so my tag was in the front! But the show had to continue...tried to hide it with my mega scarf. Really - how hard is it to dress yourself. And, this is who you're taking advice from! Who really cares about my attire when there's wedding cake to be had.
Vicki from Branching Out provided examples of wedding florals.
Nashville String Quartet - provided our background music for the evening. Here's Shannon talking with brides about using a string quartet for your wedding ceremony.
