Brooke & Marlon Turn to The Cupcake Collection, a Family-owned Bakery for Their Wedding Cakes

Brooke and Marlon have always loved the yummy cupcakes from The Cupcake Collection, a local Nashville and family owned business. When it came time to decide who would make their wedding cake, they thought “why not ask a place we already enjoy?”
Using Brooke’s dress as inspiration, The Cupcake Collections’ baker and cake decorator sketched out a beautiful design that made it a one-of-a-kind display for all of her guests to enjoy. BONUS: Brooke and Marlon got to keep the original sketch of the cake design and plan on framing it to remember forever!

What was the vision for your wedding?
Simple, Intimate, Elegant
How did you find The Cupcake Collection?
We have always loved their cupcakes! The best! Also they put so much heart into their work. Family owned!
What inspired your cake? My dress
How did you approach the design for your wedding cake?
I met with the bakers and cake decorator and we discussed my wishes. We talked about flavors, design, size, etc.
Did you take pictures to The Cupcake Collection or did you meet with them and answer questions about your dress, etc?
I took a few pictures of cakes I found on websites online. I took photos of my dress and they used the details of my gown to adapt it to the design of my cake so it was definitely one of a kind!
What did you want most from your cake? great design, taste? specific details?
TASTE! I wanted it to be beautiful (simple but elegant) but most importantly, I wanted my guests to have a totally delicious cake!!
What surprised you about the experience of designing your cake?
They freehand a pencil drawing of my cake during the planning phase. We corresponded often to discuss fine details closer to time. After my wedding, I received this drawing-I plan to frame it. Such a fun and cool idea.
What were your cake flavors? Did you have them custom designed or were they standard?
Standard "Wedding Cake" flavor...again, the best "wedding cake" flavor I have tasted. The grooms cake was a custom flavor chocolate salted caramel-so they will definitely work with you to make sure your day is perfect!
What did you like most about your cake? Everything!
