When I saw Amie's bridal show booth a few weeks ago, I marveled at the simplicity yet striking centerpieces used. I loved the color combination and the unique elements that she used. The trick - home decor!

Incorporating home decor is a fun way to get creative and stylish for your event. This centerpiece idea for the Perfect Wedding Guide Show at the Ryman Auditorium caught a lot of attention and it is so easy to make for DIY brides out there! There are all sorts of things you can make this great conversation piece work for your event. I went with two trendy colors that have become so popular for 2008 and 2009 weddings - fuschia and chocolate brown. You can add some of your specific wedding flowers or any variety you want- real or silk! Funny thing is...a lot of people asked if these were fake. As you can see from the pictures above, we used two Phalaenopsis Orchids which gave this piece a uniqueness because of the way they leaned over the ball to the right side. A lot of brides thought that was neat because it wasn't your traditional straight up and down centerpiece. It has some definition and style to it that caught people's eye.
The brown wicker ball was actually spray painted hot pink to match our linens, but the great thing is you can do this up any shade you wish to go along with your own color scheme. They have a wonderful variety of colors at your nearby craft store like Michaels, Joann's, or Hobby Lobby. The brown wicker ball came from Hobby Lobby in small and large sizes to choose from. We put the bigger ball on the larger vase to give it dimension next to the smaller vase. And last but not least, we put coffee beans in the vases for texture and to incorporate the colors together.
What really made this centerpiece work was the hot pink linen, from Connie Duglin Linens that made it all pop! Together we can find a colorful linen to put under it and watch those colors make your event dazzle. This idea can be used with any theme...have fun with it! Get creative and look for other home decor things as well. You can do so much with this! If you have a beach theme, try putting seashells and sand in the vases to give it texture along with the ball and your favorite flower if you wish or you can check out any home decor store near you to see what other creative things you can stick on top. You don't always have to use flowers...use that imagination which is what makes this a fun idea. Contact Amie of Simply Exquisite to get help with your wedding planning.
