Inspiration from Reen’s Wedding: Don’t Be Afraid to Design Your Dream Dress!

Kerri from Kerried Away Couture reached out to us and said:
I wanted to send a few photos from a wedding of a bride that designed her rehearsal dinner skirt and going away skirt with Kerried Away. I thought her vision was unique - she bought a Monique Lhuillier corset that she wanted to wear for her rehearsal dinner and as her going away outfit and wanted 2 different silk skirts that would both look great with the corset. She wanted to be sure that the outfits were different and noticeably different. I just loved working with her and thought you might enjoy this idea of getting 2 looks out of one wedding corset.
Wedding professionals LOVE brides that challenge them or make a request that allows them to think outside the box. We too were excited about this Reen and Kerried Away dress creation. But who knew her entire Belle Meade Country Club wedding would wow us! Hope you enjoy her dress story and her amazing wedding.

One Corset, Two Outfits by Kerried Away Couture
Rehearsal Dinner - Monique Lhuillier Corset with Kerried Away Anne Skirt in silver - knee length (she made other custom adjustments to this skirt such as where it hit her waist and the size of her waist band)
Going Away Outfit - Monique Lhuillier Corset with Kerried Away Dana Skirt in ivory - above knee - she chose to have no pleats in the dana skirt and made the waist band 1.5 inch
For her rehearsal dinner, bride Reen Locker chose a silver knee-length skirt to wear with her corset. The rehearsal dinner took place at Union Station which is such a great backdrop for romantic pictures! Kerri did an awesome job with the skirt and it went perfectly with the corset. Tres chic!

It certainly looks wonderful! Pictures courtesy of Kristen England Photography
The bride's vision for her wedding was a Southern Garden. "For the ceremony I wanted a traditional Christian ceremony and for the reception we wanted outdoor, light and airy. The colors we chose to use were ivories, champagnes and a light celadon green. Our main influences throughout the planning process were truly our friends. We wanted to plan a wedding that we would enjoy if we were the guests."

The flower girls were given tutus and wands to wear during the reception. They complemented the pretty celadon green dresses Reen chose for her bridesmaids!

Now THAT is a cake! "Instead of a traditional white cake, I chose a 6 tier cake where every tier was two layers… half vanilla infused with caramel and half chocolate infused with Bailey’s. So each guest got a slice of half vanilla and half chocolate. It was created by Crumb de la Crumb. And it was WONDERFUL!"

For the big getaway at the end of the night as newlyweds Mr. & Mrs. Jamie Baskin, Reen wore a white mini skirt also custom made by Kerried Away Couture.
