Magnolias + Cotton: Styled Wedding Shoot Celebrates Southern Elegance at Westhaven
Tuesday, August 4, 2015
When we heard about "Magnolia & Cotton," a styled wedding shoot that took place at Westhaven in Franklin we were excited to learn more! Photographed by one of our faves, Krista Lee Photography, and designed by Krista Ehret, Event Designer/Co-Owner of Southern Soiree Wedding Planning & Design, we just knew this shoot would produce photos that would inspire Nashville brides - we weren't disappointed!
Krista of Southern Soiree says, "The inspiration for the shoot was old Southern elegance with the title 'Magnolias and Cotton.' As a wedding designer and stylist, it's important to produce styled shoots that are feasible for the every day bride. I drew my vision from the antebellum South, but added a modern element so that it doesn't come across as too 'themed.' This is a morning wedding, which is a throwback to previous decades, and shoots beautifully! The venue lends itself to a turn of the century colonial, but offers a clean polish that many true historic sites don't possess. The budget was kept in mind to show brides that you can have a beautiful event without breaking the bank. Sometimes less is more, and I wanted to present the option of having a Southern-themed wedding without the 'DIY' rustic feel."
