Recently, I chatted with Dick and Rachael of Street Tuxedo to talk about Nashville trends in tuxedos and menswear. I visited their location in Green Hills which they described as having "Tommy Bahama" feel more so than the sports lounge decor of their other locations. Each store has its own vibe and feel which I think is great.
So, what's hot in grooms' attire? Well, chocolate/browns are a color of the past, and in 2010 we'll be seeing more grays.
...and tan suits with colored ties makes a more Spring/Summery ensemble.
European cut tuxedos that are slimmer than styles we're used to seeing are pretty popular too - a little more modern and I do think these are more flattering on most guys.
Grooms are doing their own shopping, choosing their favorite looks with their boys in tow. Street Tuxedos makes it a more enjoyable (read: easy) experience for them: Guys can now pick out a tux/shirt/vest/tie combination they think they might like and Street will order a sample for them to try on or to put on a mannequin. This way it’s not just a guessing game with a picture and guys will see how it all looks on them.
Street Tuxedos is locally owned yet still very connected to other stores nationally. This means you and your groom receive a more personal experience. This is a huge benefit because if there’s an issue with your order you get to work it out with someone face to face. Because of the nation-wide connection, your out-of-state groomsmen have easy access to getting measured and ordering the exact tux you and your fiance pick out.
I believe in supporting local businesses, especially ones I know that offer top-notch customer service.
