New Finds: Amqui Station for Your Wedding & Event Needs

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

Special thanks to Krista Lee Photography for giving us the heads up on this new Nashville wedding location.  (If you have a new find, let us know!)

The venues you choose for your wedding day play a big part in the feeling of the entire event. This new venue, located just outside of Nashville, has a very unique feel that will give your day that special touch. Amqui Station is in Madison, TN and is over 100 years old. It began as a railroad switching station and passenger depot in 1910. Recently restored to include some amazing amenities, it will work for your event whether big or small. We spoke with Ashley Bright, the Executive Director for Amqui Station, to get some more information for you.

ABG: What makes Amqui Station different than other venues in the Nashville area?

AMQUI STATION: Madison has been lacking in a really great wedding and event venue and Amqui Station answers that need. It is the only historical structure in the area. The station and grounds are situated in a great outdoor location on a quiet street, which is really nice for events. We are also able to offer lots of in-house services making us a one-stop shop for many of your event needs.

ABG: What is the capacity of Amqui Station for a wedding or event?

AMQUI STATION: The meeting room can seat 34 comfortably. That space can also be used for changing rooms for the bridal party before the ceremony if needed. If you choose to use the covered pavilion, we can accommodate 250 people for a standing reception and 200 for a seated meal. The lawn and grounds can hold an unlimited number of people and we do allow tents on the lawn.

ABG: What are the rental prices for events?

AMQUI STATION: For events held on weekends (Friday – Sunday), we charge $100 per hour for a 4-hour minimum.  There is a $25 discount that we offer if a second consecutive 4-hour block is booked.

ABG: Are there any restrictions or things to consider when hosting an event at Amqui Station?

AMQUI STATION: A lot of our policies are typical of many event spaces and most of them are in place to protect the building itself. We do not allow decorations to be tacked to walls, and any floral arrangements must have protective liners in place to avoid leaking. Also, we are not always able to accommodate a rehearsal, so other arrangements may need to be made in certain cases. All policies are laid out in our rental policy packet which is available on our website.

Amqui Station is holding an event expo so you can check it out for yourself! They will have everything set up as they would for an event, along with booths of their preferred vendors. The event is FREE and will be from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, October 18. Mark your calendars and grab your bridesmaids to head out and take a look!

I was so excited when I came across Ashley’s Bride Guide during my wedding planning process. I had been in a bunch of weddings, but hardly any in Nashville so I was starting from scratch. It was a great resource for us to get ideas and find vendors as we planned our big day. I am so excited to be able to add to the information for Nashville brides and help them create the day of their dreams! As a newlywed (3 weeks down!), I hope I can bring a fresh perspective to all those brides-to-be out there! I loved weddings before, and after going through the planning and execution of our own wedding, I feel blessed to be able to share everything we learned with other Nashville couples!

Such a cool event space, love the colors of the venue and the Johnny Cash connection makes for a very interesting history.  It also photographs beautifully!
