Bridal Shower Ideas that Celebrate the Great Outdoors

17) Cheekwood Botanical Gardens - website

1200 Forrest Park Dr , Nashville, TN 37205

(615) 354-6377, email

If your bride is a fan of Nashville’s natural beauty and rolling hills, make sure to take a look at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens. At the Garden’s restaurant, The Pineapple Room, you can purchase a box lunch and eat anywhere on the grounds (picnic tables are provided near the water gardens). Box lunches cost anywhere from $6 to $13.

These include sandwiches or wraps and fruit or chips.  Water, soda, and fruit tea are also available at an additional cost. The box lunches can also be delivered to any location on the Cheekwood grounds for a 20 percent service charge (plus tax and gratuity). A minimum of 6 lunches must be ordered to qualify for delivery.

If you prefer to be indoors, Cheekwood can host bridal showers in its Pineapple Room Restaurant. The menu features soups, salads, sandwiches, entrees and deserts. A 17 percent gratuity is included automatically in the final bill.

Cheekwood will also rent out their Potter Room, located in the Botanic Hall, for an afternoon tea. This tea, which includes various flavors of teas, muffins, biscuits, sandwiches, tartlets, smoked salmon, scones and biscotti runs $35 per person. The rental fee for the Potter Room is $300.

18) Arrington Vineyards - website

6221 Patton Rd, Arrington, TN 37014

Contact: Ryan Turek, (615) 395-0102, email

Is your bride an aspiring sommelier? Or maybe she just loves wine and scenic views. If so, Arrington Vineyards is the perfect location for her bridal shower.

Arrington has two packages that are ideal for a bridal shower:

- Cellar Patio Events: This option includes renting Arrington’s cellar patio for a private dinner for your party for four hours. The cost is $350 and a three case (36 bottles) minimum purchase.  Arrington does not cater events, so outside food and soft drinks can be brought into the vineyard for your event.

- AV Wine Outings: With this option you work with Arrington to schedule pickup for the entire bridal shower party at one convenient location. Arrington will then transport every one to the vineyard for wine tasting. After tasting is complete, members of the party are free to enjoy the grounds. You may bring in outside food for the shower, if you wish to picnic at Arrington after the tasting. At the agreed upon time (scheduled in advance) Arrington will return party guests to the original location.

- They also offer balloon rides that accomodate up to 4.  Obviously, this isn't an option for everyone but it's neat right?

To book any of these options and for additional details, contact Ryan Turek. Events can be booked up to 6 months in advance.

Hello beautiful brides! I spent the greater part of last year planning my Nashville wedding and discovered just how much fun the entire process can be! My first stop, of course, was Ashley’s Bride Guide. It helped me with everything from finding a venue to preserving my wedding dress. I would have been lost without it. When presented with the opportunity to intern for Ashley’s Bride Guide, I jumped at the chance to give back to the fantastic resource that had been so instrumental in planning my wedding. I look forward to utilizing my wedding experiences to help other local brides prepare for their big day. I also can’t wait to absorb the abundance of ideas and information that Ashley and this industry have to offer.
