Kristin of Simply Stunning Events just got MARRIED!
If you have followed ABG, you have enjoyed reading "When the Planner Plans" a regular post on ABG by Kristin sharing her wedding planning experience. As such, this was truly an ABG wedding that I couldn't wait to happen! She hired the best wedding team and as amazing wedding photographer (one of the best) I knew it would be well planned, well organized and well designed.
In fact, I have been stalking her vendor's blogs, waiting for pics or video of her wedding to surface and they have! When Kristin returns/settles into married life, she'll give us her full recap but until then...I'll share sneak peeks, courtesy of her amazing wedding photograper and videographer - McLellan Style and 2Duce2 Videography.
Also, be sure to visit Brocade Design Arts, who did an incredible job on the wedding floral and design and invitation featured below! This wedding really stands out because they allowed their family and friends to participate and to really make the wedding intimate. From the priest who baptized the bride as a baby who then acted as their wedding ceremony officiant to good ole' dad who played in the band, it doesn't get more special than that.
Thanks Lauren and Austin for letting me feature your wedding!
Bride - Lauren of Brentwood, TN
Groom - Austin of Lowell, Michigan
Our wedding details - June 27, 2009 5pm
Ceremony location - Church of the Redeemer in Nashville, TN
Reception location - aVenue
Guests - 200
Wedding Style:
My wedding style
Young, fresh with a special elegance My colors and why I choose them Summer colors - the bridesmaids wore light blue dresses, the flowers were more pinks and blues and the reception had vibrant flowers. They were all summery and fun.
My theme
Fun and elegant Personal touches My dad's band played at the Reception and when the guests arrived we had pink lemon drop drinks waiting for them with a little flag that read "all you need is love".
Wedding wow factor
We had many important people to us incorporated in our ceremony. One priest that performed part of the ceremony had been my families lifetime friend and had even baptized me as a baby. The other priest was from England and are best friends with Austin's parents. And the final priest was the home priest of my church. We also had a family friend play the cello in the ceremony. It was just nice to let everyone participate and it was awesome watching my dad's band play and have everyone enjoy them.
Favors Candy table and individual candy boxes

Gifts for bridesmaids / Groomsmen Bridesmaids received necklaces and monogrammed jewelry bags and Groomsmen got a gerber multi-tool. What I did for the kids in my wedding My flower girl got a shirt and Bear from build a bear and our ring bearer got a gerber multi-tool as well.
Most special moment for me? Obviously marrying the guy I love, but also having all my friends and family there and seeing everything that we worked so hard on come together.
My Wedding Vendors: Planner and Design: Randi Events, Laurie Hardman Florist: Branches; Caterer: Chef's Market; Photos: Tiffany Dupree and Felicia Franklin; Wedding Cake: Bille Mochow; Lighting: Nashville Event Lighting; Carriage: Sugar Creek Carriages; Linen: BBJ
My Wedding Rewind: What I would do differently if planning again? I would let Laurie have helped with everything from the beginning! I didn't realize they had connections with any type of person/service you could want or need.

I always look forward to seeing Weddings With Reese (WWR) wedding because I always hear good things from her brides about her strong execution skills. In fact, she just announced that she is giving away free day of wedding coordination via her blog. If you haven't hired help for your wedding, you need help so this might be your shot! Today, I am glad that she is sharing a Shelby Street Bridge wedding - which many of you are interested in. So, I hope you enjoy!
Guest Post: Weddings With Reese is a Nashville-based, wedding planner.
This wedding was very close to my heart, as Christa is my best friend! So not only was I her wedding planner (of course), I was also her matron of honor. And it was an honor, for sure. Christa is a very chic city girl, and this wedding needed to reflect that. Everything we did was to reflect the true Nashville feel.
From the local musician we tracked down to play acoustic guitar for the ceremony, to the constant amazing views of the skyline, I think we hit it right on. The ceremony on the Shelby Street Walking Bridge was the perfect setting, with the perfect weather, for the vows. As a venue you can use for your entire wedding if you so desire, I think this is sort of a hidden gem. The Titans Stadium Club provided an amazing view of the city, and the perfect place for Christa and Michaels' 200+ guests.
The most beautiful bride!
Who is this guy!?? It was funny though!
That's what happens when you get married on the same day as Beer Fest!
The light was perfect and Chris and Adrienne captured it perfectly.
Gorgeous!
Yum!!! Thanks Mignon!!!
Oh so sweet!
Wedding Coordination - Weddings With Reese Photography - Chris and Adrienne Scott Cupcakes - The Cupcake Collection Hair and Makeup - Amy Lynn Larwig Flowers - Caprice of The Enchanted Florist Catering - Centerplate Catering I cannot say enough to all of the vendors. Everything was flawless, and though I was in the wedding, and felt like I needed to "work", I didn't even have to!! Thank you all! Obviously all of our vendors were AMAZING! I wouldn't have picked them if they weren't!

This was a great wedding! It's ultra modern and luxe infused with very personal aspects. This couple had a clear vision for their wedding day and worked with a great team to make it theirs. I really love that they gave their groomsmen "their favorite book". That is such a great bridal party gift idea!

Plus, it took place at Cellar One, a new Nashville wedding venue. You know that I love hearing about new wedding venues!
Thanks Lisa Marie and Mark Daniel for letting me feature your wedding!
Bride - Lisa Marie of Houston, TX
Groom - Mark Daniel of Columbia, SC
Our wedding details - April 25, 2009 at 6:30pm
Ceremony location - River View Courtyard
Reception location - Cellar One
Guests - 60

Wedding Style:
My wedding style Modern mixed with classic touches
My colors and why I choose them
Apple green (for spring), Steel (elegant & evening), Ivory (touch of light!)
My theme
We really wanted our wedding to reflect us. Everything had a personal touch. The ceremony music was informal while the overall feel was a little more formal; it was June Carter and tuxes.
Personal touches
Save the date postcards, out of town guest gift bags, Polaroid photo booth, creating our own small touches (ex. rehearsal dinner menus and gift bags) to tie the entire weekend together
Wedding wow factor
Unity sand, our ceremony music ("La Vie En Rose" by Louis Armstrong, "It Never Entered My Mind" by Miles Davis, "Times A Wastin" June Carter & Carl Smith), my parents performing songs dedicated to us at our reception

Favors Cds of our favorite songs
Gifts for bridesmaids / Groomsmen
Bridesmaids: manicure, pedicures, luncheon, necklaces Groomsmen: flasks with their initials, books (favorite author, music book), and a personalized gift

Most special moment for me?
Seeing each other before the wedding (we did our formal pictures before the ceremony) and having a moment alone before the evening began
My Wedding Vendors:
Planner: Nashville Event Space, Mindy Dees Cake: The Sweetest Day, Stephanie Felts, so artistic! the cake was amazing!
Caterer: Chef's Market, guests loved the food! Southern comfort fried chicken, shrimp and grits, mashed potatoes, green bean; it was delicious!
Photos: Hannah Elaine Photography, the best! - Can't imagine working with anyone else! Our pictures are incredible and she perfectly and creatively captured the feel of the day!

Invitations: The Paper Place and Kate Page Calligraphy
Bridal gown: Nicole Miller Bridesmaid dresses: J Crew
Tuxes: Men's Warehouse
Rings: Genesis Diamonds; my center stone was the one my father gave my mother; it's now a family heirloom! Florist: A Village of Flowers, so easy to work with and the flowers were unbelievable!
Hair and Makeup: Trumps Salon, they are so great and took care of all the girls!
Dress Alterations: Elegant Alterations, Cathy is amazing! Wedding Night: The Mulberry House, a beautiful, private cottage where we stayed that weekend; we didn't want to leave! We left for our honeymoon a couple weeks later.
My faves
We made the wedding about us, we designed and created everything that we wanted, the unity sand (our vase is sitting on our mantel), choosing some of our favorite songs for our ceremony music, having a small wedding so we could chat with everyone, our pictures, the flowers (peonies, hydrangea, kale, cherry blossoms), dancing
How I find my vendors
Friends
My Wedding Rewind:
What I would do differently if planning again?
My husband and I planned everything together, I loved that time with him! Our wedding was everything we wanted it to be!
Biggest waste of time or money?
The band we hired, Ivory Joe & the Midnight Howlers was a waste. Our friends ended up putting together a great playlist towards the middle of the reception and got everyone was up and dancing. It was a blast!
Best value for the service/product?
Our flowers, they were gorgeous!
Neatest find
We loved the Polaroid photo booth! We used my grandpa's old Polaroid camera, set up a booth in what was once a phone booth at the bar in our venue, had someone take the pictures, and then paste them into a scrap book. Everyone signed their names and wrote great messages to us! The book is sitting on our coffee table and we love going back through it!
