Couple Host Effortless Sambuca Nashville Wedding, Keep Focus On Family & Friends

Friday, October 30, 2015

Diane and Kirk didn't want to bother with the unnecessary.  Their goal was to celebrate the strength of their bond and the importance of family and friends.  To minimize distractions, they turned to the folks at Sambuca Nashville who provided everything they sought: a modern location, great food, and a singular location for their ceremony and reception.

There’s no doubt that their wedding would’ve been gorgeous anywhere, but the Sambuca skyloft definitely added a city view of Nashville for all of their guests to enjoy.

While Diane and Kirk’s formal wedding ceremony and reception were obviously beautifully designed, what we really love was their ability to express their sophisticated style while giving us a peek into their playful spirits.  Keep reading.  You'll see...

Wedding Details

How would you describe your style as a couple?

Fun and relaxed.  Compatible and affectionate.  Caring and respectful.  Independent and connected.

Where did you get your inspiration?

Pinterest, family, and experience.

How did you incorporate that style into your wedding?

Our vision was simple elegance—avoiding cluttered, unimportant details.  Sambuca’s style fit perfectly with ours.  We didn’t have to compromise anything we wanted to make Sambuca work with our vision. Modern, urban, and yet warm.

What was your (or your guests’) favorite aspect of your wedding?

Atmosphere was fun and festive, while allowing easy conversation.  All of the priority things, no clutter.  Background music helped set a sophisticated, adult mood, and allowed for silliness.  Food was beautiful, delicious, and easy to enjoy—a complement to the event, not a distraction.  Scope and pace allowed the bride and groom to enjoy the event and people instead of the event happening at you.

Where did you splurge?  Where did you save/DIY?
Splurge:
• Wedding night at Hermitage Hotel (Perfect!!!)
• Limo for bride and her children, to Sambuca
• Sambuca as the venue (our first choice turned out to also be a great value, and the Sambuca team made planning/execution SO EASY)

Savings:
• DIY flowers
• Four-cake assortment from Publix instead of a high-budget cake
• Sambuca was a great value
• Groom and best man wore dark gray suits (already owned)
• Rehearsal dinner ourselves (I-Do-BBQ)
• A second reception at Dutch Girl Brewery (Spring Lake, Michigan), which was convenient for many northern friends and family
• DIY wedding favors for guests—bride and groom designed and prepared a Spicy & Sweet seasoning mix, given in decorative shakers

Who were your favorite vendors and what made them exceptional?

Sambuca made planning and execution so easy. Can’t say enough good things.

In one sentence, what words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?

Know who you are, as a couple, and know your vision of the event.  It helps keep you on task, and keeps the distractions in perspective.  Keep things as simple as possible so you can enjoy the day as much as you hope your guests do.
