With the Help of an All-Star Team, Ramsey & Hank Host Timeless Wedding at Nashville’s Union Station
Friday, November 28, 2014
If timeless is the theme you’re going for for your wedding, look no further for inspiration than Ramsey and Hank’s June wedding at Union Station Hotel.
For the couple, it was important for the two to look back on their wedding day years from now and know that they stayed true to themselves, not trends, and honored the day for what it was: the union of two people who love each other madly. They achieved this desire with personal touches — Ramsey’s bouquet contained a locket with pictures of her grandmothers, great aunt, and mother-in-law who all passed away before the wedding — and keeping the day focused on their love, family and friends, and keeping the day as stress free as possible.
And speaking of stress free, the couple couldn’t have pulled off such a feat without the help of Street Tuxedo’s concierge service, which provided on-the-spot alterations and quick tuxedo swaps. Talk about headache averted!
But let’s not wait any longer! Dive into Ramsey and Hank’s wedding here.

My Wedding Details
How would you describe your style as a couple?
Classic/Traditional
How did you incorporate that style into your wedding?
Hank and I wanted our wedding to have a classic feel with timeless elements. We didn’t want to look back at our wedding pictures in twenty years and wonder why we used some fad or trend that is no longer in style. Union Station is a simply gorgeous hotel and didn’t require very many decorations. We chose to stick with two classic wedding decorations, candles and flowers, to add to Union Station’s romantic feel.
What was your (or your guests’) favorite aspect of your wedding?
That’s a tough call, but for the guests we’d have to say the cake! We heard so many guests raving about the different flavors of cake from Dessert Designs. For Hank and I, we think the convenience of having the ceremony and reception at Union Station was wonderful! Everything being at one place and Union Station’s proximity to downtown Nashville, hotels, an airport, and so many other factors made the entire event much easier not only for us but for our guests, as well.
Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?
We splurged on our guest list, which truly drove the final cost. For us though, it was incredibly important that our many family and friends be with us on our big day. We saved a bit by repurposing the flowers from our rehearsal dinner and using them to decorate cocktail tables at our reception.
Now that the wedding day is over, is there anything about your planning process you feel you could have done differently?
We would have done more things in advance. We had almost one year and a half engagement, and, at first, that seemed like such a long time. The big day creeps up on you faster than expected!
In one sentence, what words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?
It’s easy to get lost in the details of your wedding, but never lose sight of why you’re getting married in the first place. As my dad was about to walk me down the aisle, a lady assisting my wedding planner told me that what was really important was not that day but every day after. Her inspiring words will always stick with me. (Sorry – I couldn’t narrow it to one sentence!)
