Branching Out Floral & Event Design Offers Nearly Two Decades Worth of Expertise to Nashville Brides

Wednesday, November 5, 2014

For any bride just entering into the wedding planning process, you’ve got to get acquainted with Vicki Sanders of Branching Out Floral and Event Design.

A 16-year-old veteran in the Nashville wedding industry, Branching Out provides brides with unparalleled services that center around the bride’s vision for the look of her day. Instead of merely copying trends, Vicki and the Branching Out team take a look at the venue, the linens and every part of the decor to help incorporate a cohesive style.

It’s no wonder why most of Branching Out’s new clients are referrals from satisfied brides. Get to know a bit more about Branching Out Floral and Event Design.

Tell us about what services you offer to brides.

We do floral design, including bouquets, men’s lapels, church décor and centerpieces. Also, if a bride does not plan on hiring a wedding planner, we can help them choose their linens, rentals, etc.

How did you get your start in your business and in the wedding industry?

My mother was an award-winning floral designer, so I grew up watching her design amazing florals for weddings. A close friend asked me many years ago to design the florals for her daughter’s wedding, even though I had ever done so on my own before. That wedding went well, and I worked off referrals — I was a teacher at the time. My business grew to the point that I had to make a career choice. I chose to surround myself with beautiful flowers and events.

What makes your services unique?

Having now been in the business for about 16 years, we have probably worked at most of the venues in Middle Tennessee, so we are familiar with load in/rules, etc. However, the most unique thing we offer is our huge inventory of every type of container that a bride could probably want, from anything in glass to silver to gold to farm look, to vintage glassware, to chalkboards, etc. We offer these for use to our brides as a service with no additional cost to them.

Why do you love weddings and working with Nashville brides?

I love them because my clients have been planning what they want their wedding to look like for a long time. I get just as excited to see them thrilled with the florals and décor we design for them as they do! It really makes me feel good to please them.

What’s your advice to brides who are just beginning the wedding planning process?

There is a definite overload on Pinterest for ideas, but please treat them as that — ideas! Don’t just copy another bride’s wedding. Let a professional help you make a unique look just for you and the venue you have chosen.

For many women, their fascination with weddings fades after they say, “I do.” Not for me. Even though my wedding was two years ago, I still very much have a heart for weddings and helping brides focus on what’s important — building a day that reflects both the bride and the groom while focusing on the why of the wedding — the marriage. In addition to my job as a personal trainer and wellness coach, I also coordinate weddings part time, offering couples both perspective and a little elbow grease to make sure their wedding day is a success. I’m a huge advocate for life balance and I like to remind and encourage couples to keep their sanity — and a healthy relationship — in the midst of wedding planning.
