Trevor + Rachel’s Classic, Winter Wedding with a Coffee Room at Nashville’s Houston Station

Friday, July 5, 2013

Trevor and Rachel mixed rustic and elegant elements to achieve their winter themed wedding at Houston Station.    I love that they took advantage of Noteable Blends, a coffee room on-site at Houston Station.  In between dancing, wedding guests were treated to a coffee blended custom for the couple.   The coffee room was a great way to keep this wedding intimate and guests warm on this cool, January wedding day.

My Wedding Details

How would you describe your style as a couple?
Warm and rustic, but elegant and classic at the same time.

How did you incorporate that style into your wedding?
The lighting and different elements throughout the room (trees, hanging lanterns, burch wood, whisky barrel table for drinks, exposed brick walls and beams and rustic chandaleers) gave the venue the warmth and rustic feel we wanted. The table linens, flowers!!!, centerpieces, table settings, dress and tuxes made the evening classic and the dimmed lights and hanging candles made it elegant.

What was the favorite aspect of your wedding?
All of our family and friends traveling in made the day so memorable. That was definitley the best. We wanted everyone to have a blast and that's how we made our plans: Good friends, good Food, and lots of dancing.

Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?
I splurged on my veil. I had a long cathedral veil and blusher. The one and only thing that I had pictured since I was a little girl about my wedding was my Dad walking me down the aisle, pulling back my blusher and giving me a kiss before he passed me to my future hubby.

We saved on the invites. We made them ourselves. They turned out perfect. They were romantic but still wintery and rustic. I loved the wax monogram stamp used to enclose the invite. It was a big task to take on but so worth it in the end.

Now that the wedding day is over, is there anything about your planning process you feel you could have done differently?
I wouldn't change a thing! The day could not have gone any better. The weather was perfect- sunny with a winter chill in the air.  The ceremony was intimate. The cocktail hour in the coffee bar at Houston Station set the perfect mood- with great music.  And we just had so much fun the rest of the night!

In one sentence, what words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?
Take it all in and just try to enjoy it!
