Dessert Loving, Southern-style Couple Give Guests Delicious, Southern Comfort
Monday, November 18, 2013
For brides who want the quintessential southern fare served at their weddings, there’s no question on who to call: Celeste, owner of Mrs. J’s Baking and Catering.
Hannah and Chuck wanted their wedding to be soaked in all things Southern, from the rustic location of their ceremony, Front Porch Farms, down to the last drop of sweet tea. They entrusted Celeste to carry the theme through out every dish that was served to their guests at their May wedding, and boy, did she!

The couple was very specific about one thing: They wanted a lot of desserts for their guests to enjoy. So Celeste delivered the sweet request in the form of peach cobbler, lemon poppyseed cupcakes and Coca Cola cake, in addition to their wedding cake that was made by a family friend. She also cooked up some yummy entrees and sides for the couple’s buffet reception:
Appetizers
Seasonal fresh fruit
Assorted cheeses
Meat
Marinated boneless, skinless chicken breast
Pulled pork served with three sauces: tequila peach, sweet heat and little zip
Side Dishes
Spring greens salad with fresh fruit and poppyseed dressing
Twice-baked potato casserole
Corn pudding
Cole slaw
Buns for sandwiches
Drink
Sweet Tea - of course!
