Get to Know Menu Maker Catering and the Woman’s Club

Wednesday, February 24, 2016

Update: If you missed the event, take a few moments to get to know these two wedding resources and contact them directly if interested.

I toured the Woman's Club of Nashville in December at the invitation of Mary, owner of Menu Maker, in December.  Does the venue sound familiar?  Probably not, but I assure you that you've passed it dozens of times and probably never knew it was an option for your wedding.  It's located right on Hillsboro Road and offers space for a small wedding ceremony, bridal shower or wedding reception. It's full of history and charm.

This weekend, Menu Maker and a host of other Nashville wedding vendors are hosting a bridal event where you can see the space, sample Menu Maker's catering and get to know other wedding service providers.  Today is the last day to RSVP.  More details are below...

"Come party with Menu Maker Catering!  EAT: Sample our master Chef's favorite culinary creations.  DRINK: Enjoy a decadent wine tasting from Red Spirits. MEET the Experts: Learn about flowers and dresses from Geny's Flowers and Bridal, tour the Nashville Woman's Club, visit with the Street Tuxedo truck, sample cakes from Dulce Desserts and see what decorations are in style with Liberty Party Rental. Please RSVP by Wednesday, February 24th. Contact us for more information at [email protected]."

More Favorite Nashville Wedding Vendors from the Enchanted Brides Bridal Show

Friday, January 22, 2016

Over the last week, we've highlighted our favorite vendors from the Enchanted Brides bridal show that took place at Nashville's Hutton Hotel on January 10, 2016.  We're back to share just a few more favorites....

We love Draping Designs!  Owner, Janet, is always our booth-mate at the Enchanted Brides and we love being next to her.  She keeps us laughing, and we always enjoy seeing her latest draping designs.  She's draped wedding venues all over Nashville and beyond, traveling hours to ensure that brides have that magical look for their big day.  Her designs, some of which you can see pictured above, speak for themselves.

She also draped the fashion show backdrop for the bridal show.  There's no limit to what Draping Designs can do to transform a space.

The personalities that make up the Lisa Shelby Photography team alone is enough to want to schedule a time to talk your wedding.  The talented and always smiling duo should be at the top of your photography list.

Geny's Flowers and Bridal offers floral design, floral to purchase, bridal gowns, and wedding planning and design services.  With so many services under one roof, it's worth making an appointment as you're sure to find at least one wedding service that you need and love.

DJ DanCo - DJ Dan and DJ Bama were in the house!  They DJed our Sex and the City party back in 2010 and are still making every Nashville wedding or event they host the best party of the evening!

Custom bridal gowns made by a Nashville artist who has styled brides for years?  Sign us up!  Karen Hendrix Couture's gowns are art pieces that keep us swooning!

Carlie!  Our girl Carlie of 2 Travel Anywhere was on hand to discuss honeymoon planning.  Her free travel planning service takes the stress from you and lets the pro plan the best trip of your life!

Bacon & Caviar - I don't eat bacon or caviar but I had to stop by and say hello to this Nashville wedding caterer because I'd heard such great things about them from past brides.  Their lemonade was perfectly balanced and the team was so helpful that I'd recommend a tasting based on service alone.

Favorite from Enchanted Brides, a Nashville Bridal Show: Monell’s Dining & Catering

Thursday, January 21, 2016

The Saturday before the Enchanted Brides bridal showl, my mom attended a brunch, birthday party at Monell's and raved about how delicious it was.  I told her they also cater Nashville weddings and are a great rehearsal dinner option for Nashville's engaged couples, which many fans of Monell's don't know.

So imagine her delight when she saw them at the bridal show the next day!  Secretly, I always love seeing brides' reactions to Monell at bridal shows.  I think they just love knowing that a restuarant they love is also an option for weddings. Actually, what grabs them (and me) is always their mac and cheese station!  Their mac and cheese is sooooooo good that my 6-year old niece said "I wish my mom knew the recipe so she could cook it for me!"

I can't resist it either.  And, that's exactly what you want for your wedding day: food that your guests will love.  After all, you're paying so much to feed them that you want to make sure it's memorable.

If you haven't thought about Monell's for your Nashville wedding caterer, give them a call and schedule a tasting.  Their information can be found at monellstn.com.

Favorite from the Enchanted Brides, a Nashville Bridal Show: Spin Wheels Cotton Candy Cart

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

The Spin Wheels Cotton Candy Cart was one of the most popular booths at Sunday's Enchanted Brides bridal show at the Hutton Hotel.  No surprise right?  Who isn't drawn to cotton candy?  Can you imagine the look on your guests' faces when they see cotton candy at your wedding? They make the perfect wedding favor or dessert addition.

Heather and Bryan of Spin Wheels

We learned about Spin Wheels Cotton Candy Cart last year through our interview with Nashville wedding planner Toni, of Celebrations by Design.  Spin Wheels Cotton Candy Cart offers made-to-order cotton candy cones in 30+ flavors, including: Sassy Apple, Piña Colada, and Maple Bacon.  Some flavors are even gluten free.

At this weekend's bridal show, they debuted the Spin Wheels Ice Cream Cart, a fun new addition to a childhood favorite.  Each package comes with your choice of two flavors of ice cream, two candy toppings (such as Oreo or M&M), two sauce toppings (like caramel or strawberry), and cones & dishes for a sundae or an ice cream cone, with hand-scooped Purity ice cream.

Spin Wheels can be hired for your wedding for as little as $275 for 2 hours and 50 servings.  Contact owners Heather and Bryan at (615) 484-1045.

Chef’s Market Named Nashville’s Top Caterer (Again!)

Monday, December 7, 2015

Chef's Market was named Nashville's top off-site caterer based on sales volume by Nashville Business Journal.  They've consistently been named Nashville's best caterer by other publications, but what does "by volume" mean?  It means that event professionals, brides, grooms, socialites, party planners, and companies all over the city trust Chef's Market more than any other caterer to cater their special event.

We know, largest doesn't always mean best.  However, we can attest that for weddings, they are top!  We've tasted (and tasted) their innovative menus, loved their unmatched food styling, and appreciated their attention to detail.  Most companies simply do not do both great food and great style well.

If you aren't familiar with them, or if you haven't quite decided on your wedding caterer, put them at the very top of your consult list.
