My Friend Ashley & Her Hubby Kolade Wed at Nashville City Club & Share Advice to Keep You Sane

Friday, March 15, 2013

Ashley is a dear friend.  She was a green blogger for Ashley's Bride Guide when she had time to share her latest eco-friendly finds, before she got engaged and planning took over as her second job.

When she got engaged to Kolade, I was so happy for them.  Before I met him, I knew enough to like him.  He balanced her and made her smile.  That's all that mattered to me.

As they planned their Nashville wedding, I got to know him more and looked forward to Ashley's wedding planning updates - the exciting finds, the deals, the agony of making decisions with a budget that's never enough.  (Believe me - no dollar amount is enough when it comes to weddings.)  I knew a few of her details but nothing prepared me for seeing Ashley in her dress! She was truly a breathtaking bride, inside and out.  And her mom.  OMG!  Her look was fab from head to toe! It was a wonderful wedding that allowed me to experience some of Nashville's most popular wedding vendors - Regalo Design and Nashville City Club - for myself, as a guest.

I hope you enjoy Ashley and Kolade's wedding details and photos as much as I enjoyed celebrating with them.

Have an incredible weekend.

Wedding Details

Describe your wedding in one word?  Awesome

How would you describe your style as a couple?

We are a mix of classic swag and vintage, earthy, chic. Kolade is the swag and I am in the vintage, earthy, chic.

How did you incorporate that style into your wedding?

We wanted an intimate wedding with vintage, earthy décor. Our colors were moss, chocolate and antique gold. We used branches, moss and hydrangea during the ceremony and reused many of these pieces at the reception. We also drove away in a hybrid Escalade.

What was your (or your guests’) favorite aspect of your wedding?  The photobooth by far!

Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?

We splurged on the venue/food. We saved by hiring a one-stop planning company and they handled many aspects of the wedding including: rentals, flowers, décor and invitation design.

Now that the wedding day is over, is there anything about your planning process you feel you could have done differently?

Details are not worth your sanity, lol. Your wedding day is probably one of the best days of your life and many of the details you worried about in planning all wash away on the day of. You are caught up in having the best time of your life with your new husband, family & friends…I know I did☺.

If you hired a planner, why and are you glad that you did? Yes we did and it was helpful to have someone to keep our wedding day on track. Our planner was very heavy into décor & flowers so that was the biggest asset, as it helped for us to stay on budget without too many last minute pop ups.

Why did you select your venue and would you recommend it to others?

Nashville City Club provided a reception venue, tables/chairs and all things in between plus catering. They had a great on-site contact, Jaleesa Baier, that worked with me from planning to the day of my wedding. I would definitely recommend them to other brides.

In one sentence, what words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?

Stress less, it will all come together in God’s plan.
