Enjoy Flexibility on Your Big Day with Lyft - “A Ride Whenever You Need One”

Tuesday, August 11, 2015

Grabbing a ride after an event or a night on the town has never been easier.  For those who have wedding parties that happen to need a lift, well, it just got simpler for you.  Instead of relying on guests to drive themselves home, especially if it isn’t safe for them to do so, you now have the option of renting from Lyft.  This service has everything for you to not worry a single bit about your transportation needs on your wedding day.

Curious?  Read the answers below from Merty McGraw, one of the folks at Lyft.  The services provided are perfect for your wedding day and a great option to reduce your transportation stress!

What’s the advantage of guests using Lyft over a shuttle/bus or their own cars?
Affordability - Shuttles can be expensive, and, often times, you have to reserve them for the entire duration of your event despite the fact that they are only in use at the beginning and end.  With Lyft, you are only paying for transportation when you need it, and you are only billed for the cost of the ride.

Flexibility - Lyft allows your guests to come and go as they need.  Certain guests may need to get to the ceremony early, while others might want to celebrate with you into the early hours of the morning.  Whatever the case may be, Lyft can get your guests where they need to be according to each individual’s schedule.

Safety - Lyft is great for brides and grooms who want to ensure their guests have a safe ride home after the celebrations.  This is especially important to brides and grooms hosting open bar weddings.

Who is most attracted to using Lyft for their wedding?
Most of the brides and grooms we serve are Lyft users in their personal lives and want to bring the ease of Lyft to their wedding day transportation.

Is there a limit to the number of guests you transport?
We handle corporate events with close to 1000 people all the way down to intimate weddings with just a few.  Our standard Lyft vehicles can fit up to four passengers, and our Lyft Plus vehicles can seat at least six passengers.  We will work with our drivers in the area to ensure there are enough Lyft cars available to support your event’s needs.

Is this service used during a given timeframe? Does it cut off after a certain point?
We are able to restrict the time frame as much or a little as you would like.  Most often, we set up the Lyft code to be valid an hour or two before/after the official event start and end times to allow for transit time.

What type of cars are used for the wedding ceremony?
There are a wide range of vehicles on the Lyft platform, but all of our cars must be clean and in good working order.  All Lyft vehicles have at least 4 doors or more, 5 seatbelts or more (including driver’s), and must be from the year 2003 or later in Tennessee.

Is there a way to set a maximum in budget?
Lyft works with a variety of brides and grooms with a wide range of budgets.  We have couples that want to cover the whole ride for every guest.  We have couples that provide the first $10 towards each ride.  We also have couples pay for rides only for a select group of guests.  Whatever your situation may be, we can work with you to find the best solution for your guests and your budget.

There are no deposits or set up fees required.  To get an idea of what a ride between two specific locations would cost, please visit our cities page, click on your region, and type in the pick up and drop off location.
