Enjoy Flexibility on Your Big Day with Lyft - “A Ride Whenever You Need One”

Tuesday, August 11, 2015

Grabbing a ride after an event or a night on the town has never been easier.  For those who have wedding parties that happen to need a lift, well, it just got simpler for you.  Instead of relying on guests to drive themselves home, especially if it isn’t safe for them to do so, you now have the option of renting from Lyft.  This service has everything for you to not worry a single bit about your transportation needs on your wedding day.

Curious?  Read the answers below from Merty McGraw, one of the folks at Lyft.  The services provided are perfect for your wedding day and a great option to reduce your transportation stress!

What’s the advantage of guests using Lyft over a shuttle/bus or their own cars?
Affordability - Shuttles can be expensive, and, often times, you have to reserve them for the entire duration of your event despite the fact that they are only in use at the beginning and end.  With Lyft, you are only paying for transportation when you need it, and you are only billed for the cost of the ride.

Flexibility - Lyft allows your guests to come and go as they need.  Certain guests may need to get to the ceremony early, while others might want to celebrate with you into the early hours of the morning.  Whatever the case may be, Lyft can get your guests where they need to be according to each individual’s schedule.

Safety - Lyft is great for brides and grooms who want to ensure their guests have a safe ride home after the celebrations.  This is especially important to brides and grooms hosting open bar weddings.

Who is most attracted to using Lyft for their wedding?
Most of the brides and grooms we serve are Lyft users in their personal lives and want to bring the ease of Lyft to their wedding day transportation.

Is there a limit to the number of guests you transport?
We handle corporate events with close to 1000 people all the way down to intimate weddings with just a few.  Our standard Lyft vehicles can fit up to four passengers, and our Lyft Plus vehicles can seat at least six passengers.  We will work with our drivers in the area to ensure there are enough Lyft cars available to support your event’s needs.

Is this service used during a given timeframe? Does it cut off after a certain point?
We are able to restrict the time frame as much or a little as you would like.  Most often, we set up the Lyft code to be valid an hour or two before/after the official event start and end times to allow for transit time.

What type of cars are used for the wedding ceremony?
There are a wide range of vehicles on the Lyft platform, but all of our cars must be clean and in good working order.  All Lyft vehicles have at least 4 doors or more, 5 seatbelts or more (including driver’s), and must be from the year 2003 or later in Tennessee.

Is there a way to set a maximum in budget?
Lyft works with a variety of brides and grooms with a wide range of budgets.  We have couples that want to cover the whole ride for every guest.  We have couples that provide the first $10 towards each ride.  We also have couples pay for rides only for a select group of guests.  Whatever your situation may be, we can work with you to find the best solution for your guests and your budget.

There are no deposits or set up fees required.  To get an idea of what a ride between two specific locations would cost, please visit our cities page, click on your region, and type in the pick up and drop off location.

The Big Love Bus Offers Quirky Wedding Day Transportation

Tuesday, March 17, 2015

Logistics is a major part of planning your big day and tradional transportation options are usually pretty boring, but thankfully for brides, Nashville has a new gig in town. The Big Love Bus is an incredibly unique and FUN alternative to your traditional shuttle service.  This hand-painted and retro-rennovated school bus known around town as "Lovely Rita" is a great choice for scooting your wedding guests to and from your ceremony and reception.

Parked across the street from Yazoo Brewery and cruising down broadway, this groovy bus is hard to miss.  Seating up to 30 people at a rate of $200 per hour, the bus is also pretty reasonable.  Not to mention, the drivers are awesome and eager to give everyone on board a great experience.  The Big Love Bus is super handy for bachelor and bachelorette parties as well.  With lights, music, a chalkboard ceiling and, most importantly, a big ole beverage tub, your guests will go wild whether they're passengers for your big day, or your last hurrah.  So put on your party pants and stock the tub with your favorite refreshments because The Big Love Bus is sure to be a memorable ride.

We Answer an Email from a Mother-of-the-Bride: Which Trolley Is The Best Option For My Wedding Day?

Thursday, March 20, 2014

We recently received the following email from a mom in Chicago who is helping her daughter plan a Nashville wedding.

Hi!

I was wondering if you could give feedback on Hello Trolley. There is only one review on Wedding Wire. He seems helpful and responsive but is he safe and reliable? Do you have a trolley service you prefer?
You rock!
~ Kathi

Hey!

As far as trolleys - I’ve always heard good things about FADDS.  A planner just mentioned that she loves Hello Trolley.

If Kathi had this question, we figured there were other brides out there who were wondering the same thing! We don’t play favorites, so we’ll let you decide! We reached out to two Nashville trolley companies to learn more about their services:

F.A.D.D.S. Party Bus

What are your services?

We offer pick up and drop off services with our trolleys. With our trolleys, we shuttle from hotel to wedding,  from wedding to pictures, from wedding to reception...you name it, we’ve done it all for weddings. We have three trolleys that can accommodate 20 to 30 passengers each. We also have a VIP shuttle, which is like a limousine. Our VIP shuttle has curved seats, pretty interiors and we’ve jazzed it up with some of our party lights. The VIP shuttle holds 16 passengers.

What makes you different from other companies like you?

The biggest thing is our customer service. A bride can call and tell me, “I need to get people from here to here, but I don’t know how.” We are a huge part of the planning process and can walk her through everything she needs. It’s the coordination and planning, that’s what makes us unique. We’re going to go over the details and make sure we accommodate their needs.

How can brides reach you?

They can check us out on our websites, nashvilleweddingtrolley.com and nashvillepartybus.com. We’re also on Facebook and brides can call us at (615) 754-2221.

Hello Trolley

What are your services?

We are a very small, family-owned company started by my sister, father and myself and we’ve been up and running for about a year and a half. We’ve got one trolley that we rent that seats 32 people. Weddings are the majority of our business — since we’ve opened, we've provided service to about 70 weddings.

What makes you different from other companies like you?

We like to pay attention to the details. Our trolley is decorated for weddings, free of charge, and we try to make the experience very special for our customers through our professionalism.

How can brides reach you?

The best way to reach us is by email at [email protected].  Couples can learn more about our services at http://www.hellotrolley.com.
