Friday, March 11, 2011
We receive many request by brides to have their wedding featured on ABG. While we'd love to feature them all, it's simply not possible. So, to celebrate the launch of our new Facebook fan page (which you should "like") we allowed our Nashville newlyweds Facebook fans to submit their weddings to be featured on ABG. The Wedding
How would you describe your style as a couple?
Our style is a reflection of ourselves, a mix of exotic glamour and European sophistication
How did you incorporate that style into your wedding ?
We tried to create a fusion of both our cultures and have the best aspects of each highlighted in every part of our wedding. With our food we served British appetizers, then an Indian feast for dinner, and lastly a rich decadent dessert with a mix of both cultures. With our wardrobe choices we mixed it up with a traditional Scottish Kilt and classy ivory wedding gown for the ceremony, and then a glamourous Indian Lengha and Kurtha Suit for the reception. Our music was also a fusion of Indian bhangra hits and European beats that had our guests dancing all night! Our décor of the room had a touch of old world European romance with the glitz and glamour of a typical Indian celebration!
What was the favorite aspect of your wedding?
Not only the blending of two cultures, but two families in the presence of God and all our friends and family.

Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?
We splurged on the décor of the room and the food and cake. We really wanted our guests to feel like they were transported to a different world and that included the cuisine. We saved by having several things purchased in India-which is much more cost efficient for example-invitations, bridesmaids dresses, jewelry, reception clothing, and favors. We also were able to receive discounts from our vendors because we booked them so far in advance.

Now that the wedding day is over, is there anything about your planning process you feel you could have done differently?
Well, we started the wedding planning process very early almost 1 year in advance. However, about 3 weeks before our wedding our reception venue the Gaylord Opyland Hotel was damaged in the Nashville flood. I never thought 3 weeks before our wedding we would be looking at receptions venues. But God provided us another excellent venue and everything worked out great! We would suggest brides and grooms to always have a back up venue for the ceremony and reception because the location is always the backbone of the wedding and a lot of times will dictate several important factors of the wedding.
In one sentence, what words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?
Stay organized and dedicated throughout the planning process while having fun, and really make your wedding your own!
