Five Trends for Your 2011 Nashville Wedding: Repurpose What You Love + DIY
Thursday, January 27, 2011
Yesterday I shared one of 5 trends for your Nashville wedding. Today, I'm happy to reveal trends 2 and 3...
2) Repurpose What You Love:
- Home decor serves double double duty. Consider decorating your wedding tables with items from your home that you love. Perhaps it's candles, vases, wine bottles, or great pictures.

Venues like Cedarwood (above), Front Porch Farms and Southall Eden Farm (below) have a knack for designing great weddings using their amazing inventory (which is usually free for their brides to shop!). You can do the same for your wedding!

- Family heirlooms are a great way to pay homage and celebrate your family. From restyling your mother's wedding dress to resetting your grandmother's wedding ring, there are many options for your treasured assets.

3) Smart DIY: DIY will still be huge in 2011 weddings but this year, I forecast that brides will go for substance (and sanity) instead of trying to do EVERYTHING themselves. Enjoy your engagement vs spending months on DIY projects. Get help from local pros that can help with your favorite craft projects by giving advice on where to get materials and which projects to undertake. Regalo Design is one company that you can hire to consult on DIY projects. Opulent Couturier can also be hired to consult on the style of your wedding. After you've met with one of these companies, you will have a game plan to DIY.
