What You Missed: Highlights from the Her Nashville & NFocus Bridal Show
Monday, February 7, 2011
As someone who's attended pretty much all the bridal shows in January, I must say I have a great appreciation for the smaller, more intimate shows. One of those shows was the Her Nashville Bridal Brunch, co-hosted by their sister magazine nFocus. The chilly weather didn't stop the hundreds of brides (and me) from heading to the Student Life Center at Vanderbilt University to get to know some old favorites and new vendors in our Nashville wedding community.
Here are some of the highlights from the show!

Brides who registered for the event mostly came with their fiances. It was so nice to see couples there together, even if it was to qualify to win a contest! Everyone received a goodie bag as they walked in filled with swag from the various vendors. There was a free flow of mimosas for everyone with Macke's Restaurant & Catering (MackesGreenHills.com) serving bite-sized portions of quiches and sandwiches. Everyone was excited for the bridal show with fabulous gowns from Arzelle's (Arzelles.com) and Glitz bridal (GlitzBridal.com). When I arrived at the show less than half an hour after the doors opened, there were already people sitting and waiting patiently for it to start!
Music at the show was provided by DJ Mindub (MindubOnline.com) - really chill, loungey music that was upbeat but not club-y which fit the posh decor in the event hall done by Big Events Weddings (BigEventsWedding.com) with lounge furniture to match the chic style of the magazines. The chandellier that sat above the runway was a sight to behold.

Bringing the outdoors in - that faux bush occasional table would be a fun item to have under a tent or to make a ballroom look more interesting.

This gown by Glitz Bridal looks almost vintage!
Bake Shoppe (thebakeshoppe.com)
The Bake Shoppe had on display their sweetest looking cakes. Gorgeous sugar flowers, dots, patterns, they were all so pretty to look at and the samples did not disappoint. After seeing their booths at different wedding shows, it's easy to see The Bake Shoppe can cover an array of styles of weddings from classic to modern.

Design in August
We first featured Design in August when Ashley went to the Little Black Dress Revue. They had created the invitations for that evening and for the bridal show, they featured their entire repertoire of stationery. From Save The Dates to Invitations, Programs to post-wedding stationery, Design in August custom creates not just paper for your wedding but what you and your new husband can use after for thank you cards and correspondence. Pretty neat!

Those kids menus are adorable!

Change of address announcements - great for when you move into your first home together!

Sunnybands
The bubbly Sunny and her family were at the show with some new Sunny Bands. The Her Nashville girls were wearing the bands too and they drew a ton of attention. Since the traditional veils are taking a backseat to more contemporary styles like birdcage veils or even hairpieces, SunnyBands are perfect for you if you're a little edgier, if you want a more unique style and if you want to have a signature look for you and your girls - SunnYBands lets you custom design your own hair piece! How cool is that?

There were lots of familiar faces who were also at the bridal show - I ran into McNeal Wedding Films who were there to filim the fashion show and the models. Designs In Paper were also at the show with their fun stationery, and Wedding 101 was on site to announce the finalists to their Her Perfect Day contest where one lucky couple could win $20,000 worth of wedding services from Wedding 101 vendors.
It was a good show put on by Her Nashville and nFocus magazine and it looked like the couples who were there really enjoyed themselves and enjoyed meeting the vendors. For more pictures of the fashion show pick up a free "I Do" copy of Her Nashville this month. We also have recaps from the other bridal shows we attended. Grace shares her favorites from the Enchanted Brides show (Part 1 & Part 2). Click here for Part 1 and here for Part 2 of my favorites from Weddings the Bridal Show.
