Featured Nashville Wedding: Josie + Andrew Mix Hipster, Bohemian Styles At The Cordelle Reception

Friday, June 5, 2015

After Liberty Party Rentals told us about Andrew and Josie's hipster meets bohemian wedding at one of our favorite new venues, The Cordelle, we had to know more.  That quest took us through conversations with their photographer, Kristin Vanzant (who was super helpful!!) and their planner, the incredible Dawn of Premier W.E.D., who made time to tell us everything we wanted to know.

The twining of navy, white and lily green, along with floral accents, perfectly complemented their similar characteristics as a down to earth combination of spirits.  This classy, free spirited couple created a ceremony that left us breathless.

Here's what their planner had to say about their Nashville wedding...

Tell us about the couple.
Andrew and Josie were introduced through mutual friends here in Nashville.  Those friends were in their wedding!  Andrew currently works for Service Source, but used to be with Sony Music and was in a band called The Lost Trailers.  Josie is an associate buyer for Kirkland's.  Josie is from Humbolt, TN, and Andrew is from Greenville, SC.

Tell us about the couple’s vision.
They wanted a relaxed but nice wedding that would allow their dearest friends and family to come and celebrate their marriage.  The ceremony was reverent and meaningful to both of them, and it was one of the most emotional ceremonies of which we've been a part.

What was their theme and what inspired it?
Andrew is very classic but has a hint of hipster to him.  While Josie has a relaxed bohemian flair to her.  We blended those styles to create what you see in the photos.  Crisp, clean, natural textures with wood and greenery were used with a little shimmer from the chandelier and the mercury glass votives.

What details were used to create their theme?
Lily green, navy, and white with touches of neutral.  Josie carried a petite bouquet made of flowers in all white with brighter greens.  It had a relaxed design style with hydrangea, white lisianthus, maidenhair fern, green geranium leaf, white astilbe, and plumosa.  It was tied in navy satin ribbon.  The bridesmaids carried similar bouquets but with more green than white.  Men wore rosemary and wax flower boutonnière’s with navy ribbon.  This detail matched the rosemary at each place setting and brought a hint of the relaxed classic feel Josie loved.  Premier W.E.D. designed the reception with long farm tables set with a mix of small white vases, each with a single flower variety.  This lined the center of the tables.  Wooden chargers below navy napkins with sprigs of rosemary tucked in greeted each guest at their seat.  Above the head table, Dawn designed live greenery to be wrapped around custom rings to create two beautiful, natural floral chandeliers.  Mercury glass votives mixed into this natural setting to provide a hint of shimmer.

Can you share any special moments or highlights of their wedding day?
Josie wore a bridal gown from BHLDN (the Onyx gown) however, she changed for the reception into a vintage silk shantung dress that was a beautiful pink.  That dress belonged to her GREAT-grandmother, whom Josie is named after!

Did they have any special requests or unique challenges that you had to work together to overcome?
Josie and Andrew wanted a lovely wedding but also had a new home that would require their budget to be limited in some areas.  Creating a space that was appealing to their style, and the guest's eyes, while being frugal with the budget was sometimes a challenge, but one that turned out beautiful!  Their monies were spent primarily on the venue they chose, the food that their guests devoured, and their entertainment for the evening.  With Andrew coming from the music industry, this was a must!
