Idyllic Nashville Wedding Incorporates Family at Country Music Hall of Fame

Friday, July 24, 2015

There are many great aspects of Nashville: great music, lively night life, southern hospitality, and some amazing food. Because of all these things, it is an ideal place to plan a wedding for out of town guests, which is why Heather and Daniel planned their wedding here. With their reception in the heart of Nashville at The Country Music Hall of Fame, Heather and Daniel provided their guests with the perfect Nashville experience.

How would you describe your style as a couple?
We are a mesh of classic and modern.  I’d have to say that our priority was that our wedding photos not age quickly because of our choices in décor and attire.

Where did you get your inspiration?
Pinterest was, overall, the largest source of inspiration for me.

How did you incorporate that style into your wedding?
I noticed a trend towards more white weddings on Pinterest.  I felt that the heavy use of white was classic, timeless, and romantic.  However, I wanted a predominantly dark color for the bridesmaids' dresses.  By incorporating the popular mint color into the palette, it helped to lighten the coloring and decrease the contrast between the white flowers and navy blue dresses.  Our venues were critical for incorporating our vision into our ceremony and reception.

What was your (or your guests’) favorite aspect of your wedding?
I really hope that my guests’ favorite aspect was that they were able to see Nashville.  We chose our venues and especially our music based partially on their ability to showcase Nashville and what living here is like.  When we took our carriage ride after the reception, we saw several of our guests out on Broadway, which was really what we wanted.  Because the majority of our guests were out-of-towners, it was imperative that they feel that their trip had been worth it.  My favorite aspect of the wedding was that I was able to incorporate so much of my family into the wedding party.  My entire side of the bridal party was family and I think being able to spend that time with them was truly special for each of us.

Where did you splurge?  Where did you save/DIY?
We splurged on invitations, flowers, and venues.  To mitigate some of those costs, we took care of the other paper items, as well as much of the glassware and candles, on our own.  I also did my own makeup.

Who were your favorite vendors and what made them exceptional?
First, all of my vendors were exceptional.  However, the one vendor that stood out to me, and that we took a chance on, was Foxrun Films.  At the time of our wedding, Foxrun was still an emerging vendor.  They were absolutely outstanding.  Foxrun produces a product that rivals some of the best videographers in town at an affordable price.

Now that the wedding day is over, is there anything about your planning process you feel you could have done differently?
I didn’t express that I wanted the groomsmen to walk my guests in, and that was missed on the wedding day.  I would have done a better job of putting some of those types of expectations into words or on paper.

In one sentence, what words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?
Remember at all times to be kind to each other, your families, and those who are taking their time to help you; at the end of the day, that’s what others will remember you for.
