Nashville-based Regalo Design Plan Shelby & Pete’s Beautiful, Oklahoma Destination Wedding

Friday, March 27, 2015

Shelby and Pete may have tied the knot in Oklahoma, but they employed local Nashville wedding planners, Regalo Design, for help with the big day.  Not only did Regalo handle all of the logistics, they also designed and executed the stunning floral arrangements.  The bride gushed about how their designs accented her absolute favorite flower, the peony.  Bouquets and vases filled with hydrangeous and various lavendar flowers lined the fireplace and reception tables.  Going all out on floral arrangements allowed the couple to keep other decorations to a minimum, and made their otherwise rustic venue feel warm and romantic.

Documenting their special day was also super important to the couple and Atria Creative did a fantastic job with both videography and photography.  Atria really captured how much FUN the bride, groom and guests were all having that evening.  Their video will make any viewer shed a tear and will be a special momentum to share with their family for years to come.

Wedding Details

How would you describe your style as a couple?

We both have very classic styles. We like most things traditional and love to add a little of our own touch into everything! We also love a little bit of the rustic look.

How did you incorporate that style into your wedding (e.g. décor, colors, details or even picking the venue)?

The second we walked into the venue we KNEW it was the place for us. My husband loves to play golf so the fact that there was a veranda overlooking the course was a huge plus.  We felt that the deep, wood walls felt very classic. The venue was so beautiful by itself that it didn’t need much décor at all. We didn’t want to take away from the classic feel of the venue. We added some beautiful drapery to create a soft look through out the ceremony. This had to be one of my most favorite parts! We chose to use white, lavender, and blush as our colors. These colors were mostly used in the floral arrangements. My favorite flower of all time is the peony. My bouquet was completely made of white peonies, which was to die for!!! I loved the way the various colors of purple flowers popped against the wood. We incorporated greenery and white hydrangeas along the statement fireplace during the ceremony. We wanted to keep things simple but beautiful. We felt we accomplished this look by going all out on florals and keeping all other décor to a minimum.

What was your (or your guests’) favorite aspect of your wedding?

I don’t know about my guests, but my favorite part of the wedding was the reception.  We wanted everyone to feel like they were at a HUGE party.  We were super close with all our guests and wanted them to feel comfortable and have a blast!  Judging from the pictures of people dancing, I think we accomplished what we were hoping for.  As for my guests, everyone went on and on about how beautiful the ceremony was.  My husband and I chose to use non-traditional vows.  We still get compliments to this day about how beautiful our vows were!

Where did you splurge?  Where did you save/DIY?

We splurged on the venue, food, florals, and photography/videography.  These are the things that I felt to be most important.  I have always loved flowers so I wanted that to be the main focus of the ceremony/reception.

Who were your favorite vendors and what made them exceptional?

Our photographer/videographer were absolutely AMAZING!!  Blake went above and beyond for us with the photos.  I had no doubt they would be amazing but when I got them, I cried.  He made us feel so comfortable and we constantly try to find excuses of why we “need” to shoot with him again.  Our videographer, Mark, did an absolutely phenomenal job.  Video was something that I was super ecstatic about!  I just dream of the day I can share the video with my daughter, which is why I wanted it to be fantastic.  No doubt I cried when I watched that for the first time!  And let’s be honest, I still cry when I watch it. I wouldn’t change one single thing about how they shot our wedding day.

Now that the wedding day is over, is there anything about your planning process you feel you could have done differently?

NOTHING!  Granted, I interned for a wedding planning company before my wedding, I wouldn’t change a thing.  I was super calm through out the whole process.  I made sure to keep on top of things and I was VERY organized through out the whole process.

In one sentence, what words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?

Think about the big picture because at the end of the day you are meeting the love of your life at the end of a beautiful aisle, where you will vow to love them no matter what happens.
