Real Nashville Wedding: Lovette and Daren!

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

In honor of Valentine's Week, ABG is celebrating Nashville love by showcasing real Nashville weddings all week long! 5 days - 5 real weddings.

Toni of Celebrations by Design was kind enough to work with her couple, Lovette and Daren, to share their Nashville wedding.

And, how appropriate for VDay Week - their colors were red and black!  I love their old-school style.  Plus, they looked like thy were having FUN, which is what love and weddings are about - enjoying family, friends and the celebration of love.

Oh, and Lovette's planner shared that the bride brought in a celebrity makeup artist for her big day!  If you love her makeup, you can learn more about DaRico Jackson via his bio here.

About us:

Bride - Lovette of Nashville TN (MLK Jr. Magnet High School)

Groom - Daren

Our wedding details: October 11, 2008 at 3:00pm

Ceremony location - Greater Bethel AME Church 1300 South Street Nashville, TN

Reception location - Reception hall at the church followed by a family dinner reception at Embassy Suites Hotel - Nashville Airport

Guests - 300

Wedding Style: My wedding style Timeless - Hollywood Glamour My colors and why I choose them Black/ Red/ Silver Accent ( I choose those colors because they are clean and simple. IT will look great in pictures 30 years from now. Additionally, I wanted the bridesmaids to wear simple black dresses.

Wedding wow factor Loved the photo booth that allowed them to take as many of those fair type photos as they liked, they also could leave pictures in a book with a note for us. The machine came with an attendant so all could use it from old to young.

Favors We had a candy bar with personalized take out boxes and bags for guests to take their candy, bookmarks for all wedding guests, cones willed with hot coco and marshmallows, pictures from the photobooth (had a personalized message from us on the photos).

Personal touches I wore red shoes for the wedding, we had a classic car take us to the hotel (it was used in print ads and cd shots for Brooks and Dunn), monogram on the dance floor, candy bar.

Gift for bridesmaids & groomsmen Groomsmen received a pair of new converse shoes, the bridesmaids received a canvas bag with their name embroidered on it as well as their jewelry for the day, and the bridesmaids tank top.

Most special moment for me Riding in the car to centennial park to take our wedding pictures My Wedding Vendors: Planner: Toni C. Smith - Celebrations by Design

Cake: Cakes by Natalie Photo: Shanna Mahoney Photography and Gina Bilyeu Photography Video: Videos by Joel Rings: Blue Nile Jewelry Music: Diana Poe sang the Lord's Prayer Lighting: Nashville Event Lighting How I found my vendors? I found my vendor a variety of ways, including the internet My favorite vendor All my vendors were great! I recommend them all My Wedding Rewind: What I would do differently if planning again? Really review the guest list, and create a better timeline
