Real Nashville Wedding: Taylor and Brett’s Traditional Celebration at University Club

Monday, November 30, 2009

Welcome back!  I hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday.  I definitely did.

ABG is continuing the celebration of love and family with our Real Wedding Week!  Amber of Lotus Blossom Photography has shared today's real wedding feature.

Thanks Taylor Reigh (love your name girl) and Brett for letting me feature your wedding!

Bride - Taylor Reigh Newberry of Dickson, TN

Groom - Brett Lee Luther of Dickson, TN

Our wedding details - June 20, 2009 6:00 pm

Ceremony location - Woodmont Christian Church Nashville, TN

Reception location - University Club Nashville, TN

Guests - 200-250

Wedding Style:

My wedding style Traditional.  Modern.  Elegant

My colors and why I choose them Sunshine Golden and shades of brown.  I hadn't decided on a color theme yet, but I saw the bridesmaids dress first and knew that was exactly the dress I wanted for my bridesmaids, so I went with those colors.

Personal touches The favors were pretty personalized, there was a sticker on the dance floor with out names on them and "Just Married," my brother sang the song we had our first dance to, the bridesmaids and I also did a choreographed dance to the Time of My Life from Dirty Dancing which was a big surprise to everyone. Wedding wow factor The color theme, bridesmaids dresses, and how the reception worked in all shades of brown. Favors Personalized M&Ms and Coozies.

Gifts for bridesmaids / Groomsmen Groomsmen got pocket knives.  The Bridesmaids got robes with their initials monogramed, earrings to wear at the wedding, and flip flops that I decorated to wear at the reception.

What I did for the kids in my wedding The flower girls got a necklace with their initial on it and personalized lunch boxes and the ring bearer got a gift card to Toys R' Us.

Most special moment for me? Finally being pronounced husband and wife and being able to turn around and see all of our family and friends.  It was a moment of pure joy!!

My Wedding Vendors: Cake - Billie Mochow Caterer -University Club Nashville Photography - Lotus Blossom Photography Invitations -Kristen England Bridal Gown - A Bride's Storey Bridesmaids Dresses - Angelinatz.com Tuxes - Street Tuxedo Rings - Shane Co. Music - Jason Middleton Decor/Floral - Branches

My favorite vendors There is not one vendor I wouldn't recommend.  They were all wonderful.  I highly recommend Billie Mouchow for the cake, our wonderful photographers who couldn't have done a better job.  A Bride's Story for the dress, and University Club at Vanderbilt was such a huge help (Deborah Fluhart is amazing), angelinatz.com handled the bridesmaids dresses and they were so helpful.

How I found my vendors? I mainly found everything through friends and online searches. My Wedding Rewind: What I would do differently if planning again? Nothing. Best value for the service/product? Our photographers most definitely. Neatest find? I loved the personalized M&Ms.

Lotus Blossom is a lovely sponsor of ABG.
