Marathon Village
Whenever someone asks if I know of any places in Nashville that are truly lofts, warehouses that have not lost their original construction, and the first place I think of is Marathon Village. Now the factory is home to photography studios, artists, a radio station and a 3,000 square foot event room where fun weddings like the Anthropologie-inspired wedding was. Remember that one? It's still one of our favorites.

Urban, loft-like, warehouse-y, modern... call them what you will but the fact is, these blank-canvas-like spaces are fast becoming the venue of choice for Nashville's cosmopolitan brides and grooms. We recently tweeted and asked on Facebook what your favorite modern venues are and based on the answers, it's hard to pick just one! So we thought we'd share them all with you, in no particular order.
Events @ 1418

Rooftop deck with a stunning view of downtown Nashville, a whole building to yourself - what's not to love? From the same team that brings us delicious wedding catering from A Catered Affair and beautiful cakes from The Bake Shoppe, Events @ 1418 has housed cool weddings and events aplenty. Check out the pictures from this fun Murder Mystery Party from earlier this year.

Whenever I hear of couples having intimate weddings with just their nearest and dearest, or even couples who elope in exotic locales and then return to have a really fun party after, I can't help but be a teeny bit envious. I'm sure you will agree that what Nigel and Becky did is also a thought that's crossed your mind!
We cap off the week with a look at their urban chic cocktail reception that was put coordinated by the awesome team from A Delightful Day Event Planning.
Featured Favorite Wedding: Becky & Nigel (as shared via A Delightful Day's blog)

Becky and Nigel were an adorable couple that came to me back last year, as they were looking for a planner to assist them with their reception party to celebrate their marriage. We had so much fun planning a cocktail party for them following their intimate ceremony in Centennial Park and honeymoon in South Africa. Nigel and Becky, with their guests, had an incredible evening of food, fun, and dancing at 3rd aVenue South, listening to the Clarence Dobbins Band out of Kentucky. Enjoy the beautiful footage of Nigel and Becky's day and here are the wonderful vendors that made this day happen:
Wedding Team
Photography: Ulmer Studios
Catering: A Catered Affair
Florals: CarryAnn Misamore of Fresh Nashville (FreshByCarryAnn.com)
Venue, Rentals, and Lighting: Nashville Event Space
Band: Clarence Dobbins Band (ClarenceDobbins.com)
Papergoods & Gobo: Sweet Life Designs
Favors: The Cocoa Tree (TheCocoaTree.com)
Makeup Artist: Amy Lynn Larwig

Thanks, Becky and Nigel, for including us in this fabulous day! We truly enjoyed it and wish you two years and years of happiness in your new home and life together!!!

We get very excited when our favorite vendors are picked to be a part of events that make national headlines. When Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert had their engagement party they chose to celebrate it at Front Porch Farms. The food was catered by Chef's Market, the decor was superbly put together by Enchanted Florist with romantic and always spot-on lighting done by Nashville Event Lighting and everything was captured by Kristyn Hogan, lifestyle photographer. Enjoy!
An Enchanted Engagement at Front Porch Farms
First off, congratulations and all the best to Miranda and Blake. The team at Ashley's Bride Guide are excited for you both and look forward to the wedding day!

It certainly looked like the perfect day for a country engagement party! What blew me away was how the decorations and centerpieces were all perfectly rustic, as if they were all found objects from a flea market or an old-timey store. So I called up Caprice at Enchanted Florist and asked her what inspired her. "We wanted it to look like you rummaged through found objects and put it all together. We wanted a vintage country feel vs. a literal country feel which is why we used more found objects."

Each table is was covered in its own quilt, and each centerpiece was different from the next. I also love the use of real pieces of wood, which Caprice explained was to keep it somewhat masculine. "We placed the centerpieces on quilts and we didn’t mind if they were tattered or worn - that was teh whole point. We wanted to use very random things which is why we used different quilts. We used burlap, all of the vessels - mason jars, tins, boxes or hats, those were just objects we gthered or had.

Caprice: Yellow roses are the state flower of Texas (where Miranda was born), which Cathy of Front Port Farms suggested they use as a nod to the Lone Star State.

The couple had given Caprice free reign to the decor. "it’s very interesting because people who say “I just totally trust you, I know what you do is great, here is my budget have at it.” It allows you be creative but it’s more pressure than doing something where they know exactly what they’re getting... it was an interesting experience and it was fun to have freedom like that."
