Nashville Summer Wedding at Tennessee’s Richland Country Club

Monday, September 28, 2009

Last Sunday, I had a booth at the Stones River Bridal Expo. The first face that I saw while unloading was Trey Gambill, hubby of Angie Gambill. Trey is such a delight! As a pastor, he offers premarital counseling. He also serves as a wedding officiant for couples he counsels. Every time he stopped I saw him, he made me laugh and just has a great spirit. If you are seeking a premarital counselor / wedding officiant - contact Pastor Gambill of Florence Church.

When you see Trey, Angie is usually near. I couldn’t wait to see her booth (always fab) and to shoot the breeze because she always makes me laugh. She’s also very talented. Check out her work below.

Guest Post: Angie of Gambill Photography, a Middle Tennessee wedding photographer

Last year I had the pleasure of traveling to Belle Meade to photograph Katherine and James’s engagement session in anticipation of their wedding in June. We had so much fun getting to know one another, and their wedding was a beautiful celebration of love and family. Even with high heat and humidity, the couple looked cool and composed in their photos (I can’t say the same for myself). It was a great day working with McNeal Video. Working together to make it a great experience for the couple with wonderful memories to share for years to come.

Ceremony: First Presbyterian
Reception: Richland Country Club
Videography: McNeal Video

This photo was captured of Katherine while she was getting ready, I just love it.

There was some incredible lighting at this church. The veil was worn by the groom’s mother and then by the groom’s sister. It is just so special when an heirloom can be passed down like that and such a beautiful one at that.
What a great guy that can dip his new wife just perfectly at the end of their first dance!!

Win Free Bridal Shower Photography Coverage at Franklin Bridal Ball Tonight!

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Ever wish your wedding photographer was there to capture your special bridal events? I mean, your wedding day is important but so is the entire journey to married life - from your proposal, engagement party, bridal shower to your rehearsal dinner and wedding day.

Jonathon Campbell Photography contacted me and informed me that they actually offer bridal shower photography coverage, which brides are loving! It makes senses. Who wouldn’t want a pro photographer there to capture every moment - it’s so Hollywood! And, when you’re a bride, it’s very surreal - everything is pretty, fabulous and drama-filled, like celebrity life!

Check out this bridal shower, photographed by Jonathon Campbell. This session was won by a Nashville bride at a recent bridal show. If you’d like your bridal shower captured professionally, visit them at the Franklin Bridal Ball where you can enter to win FREE BRIDAL SHOWER COVERAGE or contact them for more details!

Guest Blogger: Jonathon Campbell is a wedding and portrait photographer based in Williamson County, Tennessee.

Ever thought about having a professional shoot your other wedding related activities? Your wedding shower is a big event too! Think about it, your girls are all together, you’re totally relaxed and getting presents! Why not document that as well. You wont have to worry about if your Aunt captured you opening your favorite gift or even if the camera was pointing the right way…(she figured it out after this shot was taken…so cute!)

When they all realized…

check out a few from January winner Jewel’s beautiful Nashville Wedding Shower…

she had such a great time!

Visit the Jonathon Campbell blog for super large, high resolution pictures from this bridal shower. They rock!

Is a Day After Wedding Photography Session Right for You?

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

I love this idea! If you liked your wedding pics, Day-After sessions are a great way to get additional shots, when you’re less rushed/stressed. If you didn’t like your wedding pics - these are what I call “re-do” pics - get a new photographer, grab your dress and groom and remake history!

Check out this guest blog on Day-After wedding sessions.

So you had a great wedding…you even had a great photographer…but now it’s a couple years later and you’re looking back through the photos of that special day…there were some shots you’d hoped you would have gotten or maybe now you would have done something a little different…well it’s never too late!

That’s where a Day After session comes into play!

Whether it’s after the honeymoon…or a couple years later on an anniversary, why not get dressed up again and have some fun, maybe push the edge a little more…take the time to actually get more photos from the ideas that you had in your head that somehow just disappeared that day (the overwhelming joy of that day tends to override all other thoughts).

This couple here is a good example! They had a great photographer, but after looking back they wished they had a few more pictures of themselves together (this is why we suggest bride & groom photos before the wedding). So Amber and Josh of Ulmer Studios spent a couple of weeks consulting with the couple over a meal at Panera and collaborating together through tons of emails & phone calls, sending inspiration photos back and forth, clothing & accessories we sent back & forth by way of websites to get everything just they way they wanted it.

A Vintage, Nashville Engagement Session

Monday, September 14, 2009

A super special thank you to everyone that took 5 minutes to endorse AshleysBrideGuide.com in the American Express contest this weekend. It really means the world to me that you care so much about ABG. Thank you, thank you!

Today, I am happy to share a wonderful engagement session that reflected this Nashville couple’s classic, vintage style. Hopefully it inspires you to 1) have an engagement session which is a great way to build rapport with your photographer in a less hectic environment and 2) make your e-session a true representation of you. The session also gives you a great introduction to Donald Yeager Photography!

Guest Blogger: Donald Yeager Photography, a Nashville wedding photographer whose photography is fun, natural, and artistic.

Kelly and Jim were great to work with. Kelly came up with an awesome theme for the engagement shoot - post WWII vintagey photos. Not only did their creative choices of wardrobe help to make the shoot, but Jim and Kelly radiate a very classic look.

I can’t wait for your wedding in November!

I always look forward to working with Don at ABG events because he’s fun and oh so helpful. In fact, at bridal shows, he’s my go-to man when I forget to turn on my camera’s flash! He’s knowledgeable without being a know-it-all.
