Karen + Walter Bring the Garden Inside for their Romantic Wedding at the Nashville Symphony Center

Friday, September 18, 2015

For Karen and Walter's big day, the focus was creating an ambience they'd want to relive over and over.  They turned to wedding planning dynamo Premier W.E.D. to help them create the classic, romantic vibe they sought, complete with a lush courtyard and an opulent reception hall filled with breathtaking florals and angelic melodies.  What a beautiful wedding to behold!

Wedding Details

How would you describe your style as a couple?

I am enthusiastic, outgoing, and classic.  Walter is more reserved and easygoing.  Both of us love hanging out with our cat and dog and watching a good episode of Star Trek!

Where did you get your inspiration?

Pinterest☺ and our wedding planner, Dawn, who helped immensely with our vision.  We couldn’t have done it without her!

How did you incorporate your style into your wedding?

I love the classic feel – we incorporated this with soft, romantic lighting, simple floor-length bridesmaid dresses, and a classic getaway car!  I was between the Symphony Center in downtown Nashville or Cheekwood Gardens, but opted for a ‘safer’ indoor option (I didn’t want to worry about rain/heat/bee stings on the big day!).

What was your (or your guests’) favorite aspect of your wedding?

My favorite aspect of the wedding was the romance – the first look in the courtyard, the string quartet playing as I walked down the aisle, our relatively small guest size, and the wonderful symphony hall to have our first dance in.

Where did you splurge?  Where did you save/DIY?

Definitely splurged on the "ambience" of the wedding – so the venue, the flowers, and the music.  I think we saved on the cake.

Who were your favorite vendors and what made them exceptional?

Chef’s Market was amazing!  The food was incredible.  The Symphony Center itself was gorgeous.  Dawn and the team at Premier W.E.D. really made everything seamless and let me enjoy the day without having to worry about anything.

Now that the wedding day is over, is there anything about your planning process you feel you could have done differently?

I would have sent out more invites earlier – many people have conflicts, especially in the midst of wedding season!

In one sentence, what words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?

Remember the reason that you’re getting married, and that the silly details – choice of linens, party favors, beer selection – are just the background of your wedding day, not the focus.
