Amanda & Mo Give Guests the View & Night of a Lifetime with a Downtown Wedding Overlooking Nashville

Friday, September 19, 2014

You know you had a great wedding reception when your guests happily complain the next day about how sore their feet are from all the dancing!

Amanda and Mo’s January, winter wedding was everything they’d hoped it would be: full of fun and relaxed. With the themes of Nashville and country music, the couple knew there was one place that would incorporate their theme effortlessly: The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Inside the venue’s event hall, the bride and groom added personal touches to the decor — fresh-picked cotton as centerpieces (yes, please!) and made sure everyone would have a night to remember.

Read more below about Amanda and Mo’s cheerful wedding and check out their awesome photos by Matt Andrews Photography!

Wedding Details

How would you describe your style as a couple?

Relaxed and Fun-loving

How did you incorporate that style into your wedding?

When we started planning our wedding, we really choose to incorporate our home city of Nashville as the “theme” of the wedding.  Since attending a wedding at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum (CMHOF) a few years prior to our engagement, we were enthralled by that venue. It was our first choice and we were thrilled to discover that we would be the first wedding in their new event Hall!

The Nashville theme seemed to grow and we incorporated country music and Nashville themes into the décor, food, favors, and even our engagement and wedding photos! The venue completed the package with the amazing skyline view that CMHOF’s event hall provided.

What was your (or your guests’) favorite aspect of your wedding?

The view.  Our dance floor looked onto a wall of windows which provided the perfect view of the Nashville Skyline. Also our Band was fantastic. I heard plenty of comments about how badly everyone’s feet hurt the day after due to too much dancing!

Where did you splurge?  Where did you save/DIY?

The venue was a splurge. Mo’s (the groom) family owns a cotton farm in Mississippi and we really wanted to incorporate that piece of family history into the wedding- instead of lots of flowers to create large centerpieces we used cotton grown on the family farm in our floral arrangements.

Now that the wedding day is over, is there anything about your planning process you feel you could have done differently?

I would have stressed less- In the end it’s about celebrating a happy event with friends and family. Everything seems to come together perfectly in the end.

In one sentence, what words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?

I would say relax and have fun! Enjoy this time celebrating and creating memories with friends and family and remember the wedding is one night that goes by too quickly!

For many women, their fascination with weddings fades after they say, “I do.” Not for me. Even though my wedding was two years ago, I still very much have a heart for weddings and helping brides focus on what’s important — building a day that reflects both the bride and the groom while focusing on the why of the wedding — the marriage. In addition to my job as a personal trainer and wellness coach, I also coordinate weddings part time, offering couples both perspective and a little elbow grease to make sure their wedding day is a success. I’m a huge advocate for life balance and I like to remind and encourage couples to keep their sanity — and a healthy relationship — in the midst of wedding planning.
