Tell me about your service offering.
Audio Video Art is a progressive digital video production company based in Nashville, Tennessee specializing in wedding video production as well as event videos for corporations, groups, and individuals across the United States.
Utilizing my degree in broadcast communications and more than 10 years of production experience, as founder and lead videographer I have developed an unobtrusive filming style that captures the essence and emotion of the day in elegance and style.
How many years have you been in business?
12
How did you get started in weddings?
I actually moved to Tennessee in 1991 with an idea to start a video production company that could deliver an excellent video to brides. One that far exceeded what their family or friends could provide. I decided to attend the University of Tennessee in Knoxville to further my knowledge and skill in live event productions. I graduated with a communications degree, majoring in broadcasting.
What do you like most about weddings?
They are all different and the couple is always happy you are there to capture their special day.
What’s your favorite wedding video and why?
Wow! Having captured over 400 weddings since 2002, it would be hard to choose just one. However, my style in shooting and editing has evolved through the years. While my goal has always been to provide an elegant and stylish video while remaining unobtrusive, I feel my videos reflect that now more than ever.

What is your service philosophy?
To capture a wedding that truly reflects the elegance and style of the day while remaining unobtrusive.
What are your strengths compared to others in your category?
I believe my company has several strengths, including:
1) Experience. Over 400 weddings worth of experience. It’s a live event and no matter how many times it is rehearsed, things change when it’s live. We can’t yell cut and do anything over. So, our experience has time and time again enabled us to adapt to what is happening live and still get that once in a lifetime shot.
2) Our Audio. We use up to five wireless mics and three digital audio recorders on every wedding. We mic the minister, groom, podium for scripture readers/vocalists and the musicians. We have all been to weddings as a guest where you can’t hear a thing the bride and groom are saying. With our videos, you hear better and see more than the parents in the front row.
3) We capture everything with professional high definition cameras and provide each client with standard DVDs and HD Blu-ray discs. There are many other companies that capture in HD but only provide a standard, non-HD DVD and I just don’t see the point in shooting in HD if the client will not receive it in HD.
What attracts brides to your company?
Audio Video Art has a distinctive style of editing while remaining unobtrusive. We offer packages that can fit most budgets and are happy to customize a package to meet exactly what a bride has envisioned. Most packages include a wedding teaser, but we also provide chapters of the ceremony, reception and prelude music that has been edited to include footage from the multi-camera coverage.
What would previous couples say was the main reason they selected your company?
I would say several reasons. Quality, experience and price.
Describe the bride/couple that is most attracted to your service/company?
Our brides/couples want more than a highlight of their wedding day. They choose us because not only do we create an awesome wedding day teaser, but we also provide chapters of the ceremony, reception and prelude music that has been edited to include footage from the multi-camera coverage. They get to relive the entire ceremony from different angles and views that no one else was able to see.

What is the most “now” / innovative new service of your industry that brides and grooms might appreciate?
Right now, it is still Blu-ray discs and HD coverage. Not everyone has HD TVs and Blu-ray players yet but that does not mean they should not receive an HD, Blu-ray version. Just put the disc in a safe place and a few years from now you will be so grateful that you have it.
