The Baber House in Gallatin, a Beautiful Backdrop for Courtney & Christopher’s Shabby Chic Wedding

Friday, May 9, 2014

When Courtney and Christopher Ryan tied the knot last June at the Baber House in Gallatin, they did so in style - Southern style, that is! With vintage details, burlap and lace, and Tiffany blue and pale pink accents adorning every aspect of their decor, this laid back couple focused on having a great party with their friends and family in a beautiful rustic setting.

Splurging on Lane Photography to capture their stunning day, Courtney and Christopher Ryan knew they would continue to enjoy these images long after their wedding day.  We're delighted to share their beautiful photos with all of our engaged readers!

Wedding Details

How would you describe your style as a couple?

Southern and Chic. Ryan is laid back, I am more vintage chic with bling.

How did you incorporate that style into your wedding?

I wanted a country, vintage, shabby chic wedding, and that is what it was! We wanted it to be outside with a gorgeous backdrop (an arch with a chandelier); mason jars, burlap, and lace were our theme. Tiffany Blue and Pale Pink were our accent colors.

What was your (or your guests’) favorite aspect of your wedding?

Our favorite part of the day was just being united as one. We have waited so long to get married. We couldn’t have imagined a better and more gorgeous day to celebrate that with the people we love the most!

Our guests told us it was one of the best and funniest weddings they have ever been to! It wouldn’t have been a party without our DJ Tim Palmore and all of our great guests!

Where did you splurge?

We splurged on photography, because it was the most important part of our wedding. After all, photography is all you’ll have to remember it by, other than memories! Always spend your most on that! Of course, our pictures show everything perfect about our special day!

Where did you save/DIY?

We saved money on decorations. Our wedding planner Nita and Nashville Event Planning had just about everything imaginable! My mother also decorated all of my mason jars at the wedding, which was my favorite part of the décor!

Now that the wedding day is over, is there anything about your planning process you feel you could have done differently?

I wish I would have had a videographer to capture our special moment on film.

In one sentence, what words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?

Don’t stress, always plan ahead!
