Modern Magnolia, located in Murfreesboro, provides delightful rentals for dinner parties, weddings or tea parties for two. With inspired accessories, vintage china and dinnerware, Modern Magnolia is a great option for the bride who is looking for a Southern Chic event. Owner Melinda Haines has curated a wide selection of pretty props that pair perfectly with charming rustic and shabby chic Nashville area weddings.

This "Farm to Table" style shoot was organized by Modern Magnolia, Modern Vintage and Joy Chambers Photography. Melinda Haines, Becca George and Joy Chambers have worked together on many other projects, and were targeting brides with a unique personality for this shoot.
This trio of vendors each knew florists, chefs, merchants and craftsmen in Rutherford County who might not ordinarily be thought of as a source for weddings. They aimed to create an intimate farm to table wedding highlighting these local resources.
For the shoot, Melinda from Modern Magnolia created two dish themes: “vintage charming” with softer colors and “vintage colorful” using blue and white china with bright highlights. With over 200 dinner plates to choose from, Modern Magnolia can put together any color palate that a bride has in mind. From elegant to country sophisticated, each piece tells a story of American history.

To see the full inventory of wedding rentals in person, visit Modern Magnolia inside The Write Impression, 120 South Maple Street in Murfreesboro on the historic square. You can also check out their wares online at modernmagnolia.net.

Modern Magnolia helps the modern bride represent her Southern roots with an eclectic alternative to standard china and accessory rentals.
The china is recycled antique, vintage and just plain beautiful, from well-known manufacturers of classic dinnerware. Modern Magnolia’s collection includes over 200 dinner plates, which are meant to be mismatched for the “shabby chic” or vintage event.
Now through February 14, take 20 percent off china rentals for your 2014 Nashville-area wedding. Contact owner Melinda at (615) 308-1575 for more details.

We. Are. Excited. About what, you ask? About what 12th Table is bringing to the, well…table!
12th Table is a locally owned, full-service rental, event-styling, and logistics company that offers a refreshing approach to wedding rentals and design.
We were lucky enough to have the chance to chat with 12th Table’s sweet owner, Megan (a native Nashvillian and newlywed!), about what makes 12th Table such a unique, breath of fresh air in the Nashville wedding industry.
Tell us why you decided to open 12th Table.
As a native Nashvillian, I know this city has a special heartbeat. It’s an inherently creative place. On the other hand, the event rental industry can be fairly generic, so to me it seemed like there was a large gap in the market. We needed an event-oriented company that catered specifically to our city and people.
In a nutshell, we do that. We provide rentals, design and logistics the Nashville way. We create original experiences. Weddings, dinners, barbecues, and long evenings into the twilight - each event deserves to be surprising and fresh, warm and original. Our services and rental collection are a reflection of those beliefs. We treat each client and event individually. Here, there are no cookie-cutter solutions.
Why the name “12th Table?”
We’re a locally oriented company, so it only makes sense to have a local name. 12th Table’s namesake is from our neighborhood: 12 South. It’s a community that’s creative, engaging, welcoming and memorable—a reflection of how we want our events to feel.
What sets you apart from other rental companies?
12th Table is an entirely new business model. We’re Nashville’s only hybrid event company in that we offer rentals, along with styling, planning and logistics. Additionally, unlike other event rental companies, our pricing is all-inclusive. We don’t have up-charges for delivery, set-up, etc., so what you see is what you get. No nickel-and-diming. This is a really sweet, special time in someone’s life, so we want to do what we can to make the process as enjoyable and seamless as possible. Take out the muck and move on to the celebration.
What are some items that you are excited to offer to Nashville brides?
Oh gosh - everything! Locally made farm tables. Parisian inspired chairs. Vintage goblets. Wedding quilts. Fine china. Belgian linens. Beautiful flatware. I’m a sucker for high quality and beautiful details.
Where did you find the items in 12th Table’s collection?
Everywhere. Our items are sourced from local craftsmen, as well as specialty stores. We’re always on the hunt. Restoration Hardware picks sit next to flea market finds. When we see something beautiful, we have to get our hands on it.
Is there anything else you’d like for us to know?
We’re here to help. If you want something and you don’t see it on our site, just ask. We’re always adding inventory and are happy to stock what you need.
Our event showroom, opening up in Houston Station in the new-year, is going to be a very hands-on experience. We’ll have tables, china, and decor set up throughout so brides can style mock tables and see how their event is really going to feel. We want people to really love the pieces they choose.

We love intimate weddings. They are a reminder that we don't have to invite hundreds of people, if we don't want to. Instead, we can invite just those who really matter. That's why we're sharing Mary and Dave's 2011 wedding, an oldie but certainly a goodie.
It’s not often a couple decides on the overall look and feel of a wedding together and sees the process through to the very end. But Mary and Dave did. They knew what was and what wasn't important to them and were determined to stay within their budget while making it all happen.
With the help of their planner, Sarah Willard of Music City Events, Mary and Dave’s dream wedding came to life — a Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme that was centered on what’s most important: closest family, friends and each other.
Mary & David
Wedding Date ~ July 26, 2011
Ceremony & Reception Venue ~ The Red House, Franklin, TN
Guests ~ 70
Tell me about Mary and Dave’s ceremony.
Sarah of Music City Events: Their wedding was at The Red House in Franklin. The ceremony was on the front porch in front of the door. The guests were seated in the front yard and the small wedding party was on either side of them. The stone walkway was their aisle.
It had rained all morning on the day of their wedding and we rearranged everything to bring the ceremony inside. We were keeping our eye on the weather and saw that there was going to be a break in the rain 20 minutes prior to the ceremony. We moved everything back outside and wiped everything down with paper towels. We had 40 minutes of clear weather. As soon as the ceremony ended and everyone was inside for the reception, it started raining again for the rest of the afternoon.
Wow! That’s so great the way it all worked out in the end! From the pictures, everything looked beautiful. What was the couple’s wedding style?
Sarah of Music City Events: Mary is an extremely artistic person. She wanted to stay within her budget, but still have the look and feel of the 1960s Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme they were going for. Mary wore a tea-length dress and pearls, while Dave went with a retro white suit jacket. Mary wore magnolias in her hair when the ceremony was over, something you don’t see brides doing very often. The brooch she wore in her hair, which was from Tiffany's, belonged to her grandmother and was what her grandmother also wore on her own wedding day.
We were also able to incorporate the 60s feel of The Red House; they had furniture already there and artwork on the walls that complemented the theme perfectly. Mary and Dave had wildflowers for centerpieces. The colors were all white, Tiffany blue, a little fuchsia and cornflower blue.
How large was their guest list?
Sarah of Music City Events: Mary decided to go with a smaller guest list to have everything she wanted without giving up anything. They had a total of 70 guests at their wedding. She didn’t want to have the experience of a wedding guest list that was so large the bride and groom would only be able to talk to each person for a few minutes.
I can’t stress enough how important it is for brides to know that it’s OK to have an intimate wedding. It’s a great route for most people.
That was really important to them and the wedding turned out so beautifully. It was a really great wedding!
