Tell us about what services you offer to brides.
We are wedding DJs and proud of it! We love music and we know music. We’re experts at positioning it and mixing it in such a way that it entertains. But music and DJ mastery is only a portion of our skillset. We are seasoned public speakers and capable party planners. We routinely compose wedding and reception itineraries, all while working closely with, and deferring to, our clients and their wedding planners. In addition to our DJ service, Nashville Party Authority offers top-of-the-line lighting, karaoke, photo booths and professional dance instruction.
How did you get your start in your business and in the wedding industry?
My business partner and I both have radio personality backgrounds. This opened up the opportunity to DJ private parties and wedding receptions in addition to radio. We had both feet in different ponds for a couple of years before we decided to devote ourselves exclusively to the wedding DJ business. Why specialize in weddings? Well, you might say the wedding business chose us. Before long, we found ourselves in high demand as weddings DJs. We’ve never looked back. It was absolutely the best decision of our careers.
What makes your services unique?
I think one of the biggest things that really sets Nashville Party Authority apart is that we are full-time wedding professionals. These days, everyone communicates via email, but should a bride call, there’s always someone in the office to answer that call. You can count on us to answer our emails promptly and we are devoted 100 percent to our brides. In other words we’re not weekend DJs. This is what we do, it’s all we do, and we do it well. Our staff has distinct skillsets such as backgrounds in radio, public speaking, theatre, party planning, audio production and video choreography/dance so our clients get a lot of expertise for their buck.
Why do you love working in the wedding industry?
When we bring a bride and groom, their friends, their families, parents and grandparents together on the dance floor, it makes for the perfect moment, and we’re ecstatic to orchestrate that moment. It’s a great feeling. We love to entertain people. We love to make them dance. It’s as simple as that.
What’s your advice to brides who are just beginning the wedding planning process?
I would tell her to be very thorough, to ask lots and lots of questions—you can’t ask too many questions— and to trust her instincts. When she interviews the right vendor, she’ll know it. When she finds that professional, don’t hesitate, book the date. Chances are this vendor is in very high demand and if you don’t go ahead and book it, someone else will.
