If you're looking for a wedding or reception venue that combines a classic feel with a picturesque view of downtown Nashville, look no further than the Conservatory at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
The Conservatory is an 11,000-square-foot space that is perfect for any large gathering. It holds 400 guests banquet style and 750 guests reception style. Its open floor plan has hardwood flooring -- which you'd be hard pressed to find in any other venue of this size -- and an indoor waterfall. It also connects to the outdoor Curb Courtyard, which is perfect for a cocktail hour or a spot for guests to take in a breath of fresh air.

But you haven't even heard the best part: The Conservatory features floor-to-ceiling windows and a glass ceiling! Imagine the look on your guests' faces when they find Nashville's skyline is the backdrop to your fabulous event!
When renting the Conservatory, you'll have access to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's amenities as well, from full audio visual services to decor design. And don't forget, guests can tour any of the museum's exhibits while attending your event!

See the space for yourself by calling Kaylen Harmon at (615) 291-8437 or [email protected].

If you're an avid reader of our blog, I'm guessing you're familiar with Houston Station, after all - it is one of our favorite Nashville wedding venues. If you’re not familiar with them, here's why I love them for weddings: Even though Houston Station is off the beaten path, its downtown location makes it an easy drive from almost any part of greater Nashville. Plus, once you walk inside, you fall in love with the limitless options.
You definitely have to see the venue for yourself to rule it in or out, but here's my Q+A with Elizabeth of Houston Station, along with some great pictures to give you a peek into the amazing space.

March 16 was a cold, rainy Sunday afternoon but inside 16 of Sumner County’s best wedding venues, the atmosphere was warm and bright with colorful displays from the area’s top vendors. The First Annual Sumner County Venue Crawl was an opportunity for brides, grooms and planners to see a wide variety of North Tennessee's bridal venues.
~~~
Arriving at the Hyatt Place on Main Street in Hendersonville, I was given a passport, map and welcome bag provided by Liberty Party Rentals. The bag was filled with all sorts of goodies from area vendors and venues.
The Hyatt Place is a convenient place to lodge out-of-town guests and it has a small events room that would be perfect for a rehearsal dinner or pre-wedding brunch. As an added bonus, it is located near many of Hendersonville's wedding venues.
Hendersonville, Tennessee wedding venues
From the Hyatt Place, I headed out to explore Hendersonville.
The Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club (BYCC) and The Lighthouse both sit on Old Hickory Lake, with BYCC being the larger of the two venues. BYCC offers a spacious, classically appointed ballroom with onsite planners for your convenience. It also has lots of outdoor options with an expansive golf course and marina. The Lighthouse has an outdoor ceremony location overlooking the water and a bright, airy reception room perfect for any event color palette.
Hazel Path Mansion, Historic Rock Castle and Spring Haven Mansion are among some of the first plantation homes built by the founding fathers of Middle Tennessee. The original owners of these three Mansions are woven together through the generations of the Smith Family tree. Hazel Path and Spring Haven both have indoor rooms available for small gatherings; however, all three offer large tented areas for big affairs. Spring Haven features a cabin, original to the property, that can be used as a bride's room for the wedding party to prepare for the big day or for an optional overnight stay. The property features a wonderful barn and tree swing that would be perfect for photo vignettes. Historic Rock Castle, built in 1784 and the oldest of the three mansions, boasts a lake front lawn with beautiful vistas, perfect for an outdoor soiree. It was recently used as the music video location for the ceremony scene in Miranda Lambert’s hit, White Liar.
Gallatin, Tennessee wedding venues
Next I ventured into neighboring community Gallatin.
Depot Square is operated by local favorite, Chef’s Market, and was once a bustling railroad depot. This large, blank canvas features exposed brick interiors that could be turned into just about any design look. The open floor plan is great for the imaginative couple who wants to create several different areas for guest to enjoy, such as lounge seating, a formal dinner space, and a cocktail or bar scene.
Similarly, the Epic Event Centre is a 20,000 square foot blank canvas where couples can build their own look and feel of the event. Epic features exposed wood beam pillars and ceilings, and walls that could be played up in a vintage, rustic or modern theme. With multiple rooms available, this venue is great for weddings and receptions for those who want an all-in-one location.
For those looking for a wedding in a beautiful country home, Rock Creek Farm is a wonderful choice. This horse farm is not as rustic as some barn event locations but has the charm of a modern day country homestead.
For a mix of a historic home with the conveniences of modern renovations, the stately plantation known as the Grand Inheritance is located on 20 acres of manicured lawns and gardens. With locations indoors and out for events, they have the ability to host weddings of many sizes.
Both Rock Creek Farm and the Grand Inheritance offer expansive, green pastures surrounded by characteristic horse fencing. A gorgeous background for both pre and post wedding ceremony photo opportunities.
Amulet Farm is for those couples seeking the opposite. This rustic, historic barn sits on a hill overlooking green pastures. The old wood is weathered to a grey patina and makes a beautiful backdrop for a picturesque, rustic event. By bringing in the desired vendors, a bride can make sure her guests have a wonderful experience.
Foxland Harbor Country Club is situated on the former Foxland Hall Sporting and Hunting Club, which was host to the first Steeplechase in the 1930’s. The original home, named Bellemont, dates back to the 1830’s and still stands as the crown jewel of the club. This area now has private homes, a golf course, a marina, and more. Currently there are renovations underway at the original 1830’s home, but it is projected to be ready for weddings and events later this year. This area offers resort style amenities with a traditional historic feel.
Bethpage, Tennessee wedding venues
Heading out to the outlaying areas of Sumner County, my next stop on the venue crawl was Bethpage, Tenn.
Sycamore Springs is the perfect venue for outdoor events of all sizes. There are several different ares on this farm that can be utilized for any wedding, including a two-story pavilion that has the convenience of a kitchen and restrooms. The venue also has a house that can be rented to accommodate a small number of overnight guests.
The Bethpage Wedding Chapel is a quaint, historic, church building that was built in 1945. However, the original congregation obtained the land and has been growing on the site since 1818. In 1952 the first wedding took place in the chapel. The building has been refurbished, keeping its original charm, to a modern facility that can accommodate up to 100 guests. This venue is for couple that wants a mix of a country church wedding with the historical, traditional feels of the local area.
Goodlettsville, Tennessee wedding venue
The Barn at Willis Branch is a small barn located in a quiet community. You will feel like you're at a family member’s farm when you come to Willis Branch. This whimsical barn, located on seven acres, can accommodate up to 150 guests. It has several rentals available to customize your event and the warm, wood interior makes for a wonderful rustic feel. This venue also offers a stage and all the necessary equipment for a deejay or band.
Castalian Springs, Tennessee wedding venue
Last but certainly not least is the Historic Cragfont built in 1786. The original home is now a museum that is not available to weddings, however, the exterior of the home and gorgeous gardens make a stunning backdrop for any event. The grounds also feature a gazebo, carriage house, pond with a fountain and many other unique photo locations.
Located just north of Nashville, Sumner County offers a great mix of historic plantation homes, pastoral farms with rustic barns, modern country clubs and hotels, and waterfront venues with spectacular views of Old Hickory Lake. Many of these locations offer cost savings opportunities and several unique features that distinguish them from venues located in the city. If you’re looking for your perfect wedding venue, do yourself a favor and venture up to Sumner County to check out a few of these fantastic locations.
